Abstract:We present the unique solution to the Quantum Battle of the Sexes game. We show the best result which can be reached when the game is played according to Marinatto and Weber's scheme. The result which we put forward does not surrender the criticism of previous works on the same topic.

Abstract:The paper is devoted to quantization of extensive games with the use of both the Marinatto-Weber and the Eisert-Wilkens-Lewenstein concept of quantum game. We revise the current conception of quantum ultimatum game and we show why the proposal is unacceptable. To support our approach, we present a new idea of the quantum ultimatum game. Our scheme also makes a point of departure for a general protocol for quantizing extensive games.

Abstract:We analysed quantum version of the game battle of sexes using a general initial quantum state. For a particular choice of initial entangled quantum state it is shown that the classical dilemma of the battle of sexes can be resolved and a unique solution of the game can be obtained.

Abstract:We investigate Nash Equilibrium in the quantum Battle of Sexes Game. We find the game has infinite Nash Equilibria and all of them leads to the asymmetry result. We also show that there is no unique but infinite Nash Equilibrium in it if we use the quantizing scheme proposed by Eisert et al and the two players are allowed to adopt any unitary operator as his/her strategies.

Abstract:In this work we successfully present a quantum version of the multiplayer Colonel Blotto game. We find that players with access to the quantum strategies has a advantage over the classical ones. The payoff is invariant under the order of the strategies.

Abstract:We present a scheme for playing quantum repeated 2 ? 2 games based on Marinatto and Weber?s approach to quantum games. As a potential application, we study the twice repeated Prisoner?s Dilemma game. We show that results not available in the classical game can be obtained when the game is played in the quantum way. Before we present our idea, we comment on the previous scheme of playing quantum repeated games proposed by Iqbal and Toor. We point out the drawbacks that make their results unacceptable.

Abstract:We show that quantum game theory offers an interesting solution to the famous Newcomb's paradox (free-will problem). Divine foreknowledge is not necessary for a successful completion of the game because quantum theory offers a way to discern human intentions in such a way that the human retain her/his free-will but cannot profit from changing decision. Possible interpretation in terms of quantum market games is proposed.

Abstract:We give a strict mathematical description for a refinement of the Marinatto-Weber quantum game scheme. The model allows the players to choose projector operators that determine the state on which they perform their local operators. The game induced by the scheme generalizes finite strategic form game. In particular, it covers normal representations of extensive games, i.e., strategic games generated by extensive ones. We illustrate our idea with an example of extensive game and prove that rational choices in the classical game and its quantum counterpart may lead to significantly different outcomes.

Abstract:We give a concise and self-contained introduction to the theory of Quantum Games by reviewing the seminal works of Meyer, Eisert-Wilkens-Lewenstein, Marinatto-Weber and Landsburg, which initiated the study of this field. By generalizing this body of work, we formulate a protocol to $\textit{Quantumize}$ any finite classical $n$-player game, and use a novel approach of describing such a Quantum Game in terms of commuting Payoff Operators. We describe what advantages can be gained by players by quantumizing such a game, particularly, what additional Nash Equilibria the players can achieve and the Pareto-Optimality of these additional equilibria.

Abstract:We study the extension of classical games to the quantum domain, generated by the addition of one unitary strategy to two classical strategies of each player. The conditions that need to be met by unitary operations to ensure that the extended game is invariant with respect to the isomorphic transformations of the input game are determined. It has been shown that there are three types of these extensions; two of them are purely quantum. On the other hand, it has been demonstrated that the extensions of two versions of the same classical game by a unitary operator that does not meet these conditions may result in quantum games that are nonequivalent, e.g., having different Nash equilibria. We use the obtained results to extend the classical Prisoner's Dilemma game to a quantum game that has a unique Nash equilibrium closer to Pareto-optimal solutions than the original one.

Abstract:We investigate the influence of the Unruh effect on the quantum Battle of the Sexes (BOF). We show that the acceleration of a noninertial frame greatly affects the payoffs of the players. In the case of Battle of the Sexes, the Nash Equilibra in the inertial frame may be equilibrium but in other games this conclusion may not be true anymore. Furthermore, we also show that the new Nash Equilibria of the game played in the noninertial frame and the probability distributions of the players in the new Nash Equilibria vary with the acceleration of moving player and the degree of entanglement in the initial state shared by the players.

Abstract:Our purpose is to focus attention on a new criterion for quantum schemes by bringing together the notions of quantum game and game isomorphism. A quantum game scheme is required to generate the classical game as a special case. Now, given a quantum game scheme and two isomorphic classical games, we additionally require the resulting quantum games to be isomorphic as well. We show how this isomorphism condition influences the players' strategy sets. We are concerned with the Marinatto-Weber type quantum game scheme and the strong isomorphism between games in strategic form.

Abstract:Humans routinely solve problems of immense computational complexity by intuitively forming simple, low-dimensional heuristic strategies. Citizen science exploits this ability by presenting scientific research problems to non-experts. Gamification is an effective tool for attracting citizen scientists to provide solutions to research problems. While citizen science games Foldit, EteRNA and EyeWire have been used successfully to study protein and RNA folding and neuron mapping, so far gamification has not been applied to problems in quantum physics. Does the fact that everyday experiences are based on classical physics hinder the use of non-expert citizen scientists in the realm of quantum mechanics? Here we report on Quantum Moves, an online platform gamifying optimization problems in quantum physics. We show that human players are able to find solutions to difficult problems associated with the task of quantum computing. Players succeed where purely numerical optimization fails, and analyses of their solutions provide insights into the problem of optimization of a more profound and general nature. Based on player strategies, we have thus developed a new, few-parameter heuristic optimization method which efficiently outperforms the most prominent established numerical methods. The numerical complexity associated with time-optimal solutions increases for shorter process durations. To better understand this, we have made a low-dimensional rendering of the optimization landscape. These studies show why traditional optimization methods fail near the quantum speed limit, and they bring promise that combined analyses of optimization landscapes and heuristic solution strategies may benefit wider classes of optimization problems in quantum physics and beyond.

Abstract:Iqbal and Toor [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 65}, 022306 (2002)] and [Commun. Theor. Phys. {\bf 42}, 335 (2004)] generalized the Marinatto-Weber quantum scheme for $2 \times 2$ games in order to study bimatrix games of $3 \times 3$ dimension, in particular the Rock-Paper-Scissors game. In our paper we show that Iqbal and Toor's generalization exhibits certain undesirable property that can considerably influence the game result. To support our argumentation, in the further part of the paper we construct the protocol corresponding to the MW concept for any finite bimatrix game that is free from the fault.

Abstract:In this paper we quantize the Card Game. In the classical version of this game, one player (Alice) can always win with propability 2/3. But when the other player (Bob) is allowed to apply quantum strategy, the original unfair game turns into a fair and zero-sum game. Further more, the procedure in which Bob perform his quantum strategy does not include any ingredient of entanglement.

Abstract:Quantum games embody non-intuitive consequences of quantum phenomena, such as entanglement and contextuality. The Mermin-Peres game is a simple example, demonstrating how two players can utilise shared quantum information to win a no - communication game with certainty, where classical players cannot. In this paper we look at the geometric structure behind such classical strategies, and borrow ideas from the geometry of symplectic polar spaces to maximise this quantum advantage. We introduce a new game called the Eloily game with a quantum-classical success gap of $0.2\overline{6}$, larger than that of the Mermin-Peres and doily games. We simulate this game in the IBM Quantum Experience and obtain a success rate of $1$, beating the classical bound of $0.7\overline{3}$ demonstrating the efficiency of the quantum strategy.

Abstract:We study the advantages of quantum strategies in evolutionary social dilemmas on evolving random networks. We focus our study on the two-player games: prisoner's dilemma, snowdrift and stag-hunt games. The obtained result show the benefits of quantum strategies for the prisoner's dilemma game. For the other two games, we obtain regions of parameters where the quantum strategies dominate, as well as regions where the classical strategies coexist.
