Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras

Abstract:In this study, we extend Beckner's seminal work on the Fourier transform to the domain of Cayley–Dickson algebras, establishing a precise form of the Hausdorff–Young inequality for functions that take values in these algebras. Our extension faces significant hurdles due to the unique characteristics of the Cayley–Dickson Fourier transform. This transformation diverges from the classical Fourier transform in several key aspects: it does not conform to the Plancherel theorem, alters the interplay between derivatives and multiplication, and the product of algebra elements does not necessarily maintain the magnitude relationships found in classical settings. To overcome these challenges, our approach involves constructing the Cayley–Dickson Fourier transform by sequentially applying classical Fourier transforms. A pivotal part of our strategy is the utilization of a theorem that facilitates the norm-preserving extension of linear operators between spaces and Furthermore, our investigation brings new insights into the complexities surrounding the Beckner–Hirschman Entropic inequality in the context of non-associative algebras.

Abstract:Multidimensional noncommutative Laplace transforms over octonions are studied. Theorems about direct and inverse transforms and other properties of the Laplace transforms over the Cayley-Dickson algebras are proved. Applications to partial differential equations including that of elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic type are investigated. Moreover, partial differential equations of higher order with real and complex coefficients and with variable coefficients with or without boundary conditions are considered.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the noncommutative version of the Laplace transformation. New types of direct and inverse transformations of the Laplace type over general Cayley-Dickson algebras, in particular, the skew field of quaternions and the octonion algebra are investigated. Examples are given. Theorems about properties of such transformations and also theorems about images and originals in conjunction with the operations of multiplication, differentiation, integration, convolution, shift, and homothety are proved. Applications are given to a solution of differential equations over the Cayley-Dickson algebras.

Abstract:We develop differential algebraic K-theory for rings of integers in number fields and we construct a cycle map from geometrized bundles of modules over such a ring to the differential algebraic K-theory. We also treat some of the foundational aspects of differential cohomology, including differential function spectra and the differential Becker-Gottlieb transfer. We then state a transfer index conjecture about the equality of the Becker-Gottlieb transfer and the analytic transfer defined by Lott. In support of this conjecture, we derive some non-trivial consequences which are provable by independent means.

Abstract:Cayley and nilpotent graphs arise from the interaction between graph theory and algebra and are used to visualize the structures of some algebraic objects as groups and commutative rings. On the other hand, Green and Schroll introduced Brauer graph algebras and Brauer configuration algebras to investigate the algebras of tame and wild representation types. An appropriated system of multisets (called a Brauer configuration) induces these algebras via a suitable bounded quiver (or bounded directed graph), and the combinatorial properties of such multisets describe corresponding indecomposable projective modules, the dimensions of the algebras and their centers. Undirected graphs are examples of Brauer configuration messages, and the description of the related data for their induced Brauer configuration algebras is said to be the Brauer analysis of the graph. This paper gives closed formulas for the dimensions of Brauer configuration algebras (and their centers) induced by Cayley and nilpotent graphs defined by some finite groups and finite commutative rings. These procedures allow us to give examples of Hamiltonian digraph constructions based on Cayley graphs. As an application, some quantum entangled states (e.g., Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger and Dicke states) are described and analyzed as suitable Brauer messages.

Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras

Abstract:This paper investigates centralizers and twisted centralizers in degenerate and non-degenerate Clifford (geometric) algebras. We provide an explicit form of the centralizers and twisted centralizers of the subspaces of fixed grades, subspaces determined by the grade involution and the reversion, and their direct sums. The results can be useful for applications of Clifford algebras in computer science, physics, and engineering.

Abstract:A graph is called integral if its eigenvalues are integers. In this article, we provide the necessary and sufficient conditions for a Cayley graph over a finite symmetric algebra $R$ to be integral. This generalizes the work of So who studies the case where $R$ is the ring of integers modulo $n.$ We also explain some number-theoretic constructions of finite symmetric algebras arising from global fields, which we hope could pave the way for future studies on Paley graphs associated with a finite Hecke character.

Abstract:Let A and B be graded algebras in the same variety of trace algebras, such that A is a finite-dimensional, central simple power associative algebra (in the ordinary sense). Over a field K of characteristic zero, we study sufficient conditions that ensure B to be a graded subalgebra of A . More precisely, we prove, under additional hypotheses, that there is a graded and trace-preserving embedding from B to A over some associative and commutative K -algebra C if and only if B satisfies all G -trace identities of A over K. As a consequence of these results, we give a geometric interpretation of our main theorem under the context of graded algebras, and we apply them beyond the Cayley–Hamilton algebras presented in [24, 29]. Such results open a wide range of opportunities to study geometry in Jordan and alternative algebras (with trivial grading).

Abstract:This article explores the innovative use of Hadamard transforms in Hermitian Clifford analysis within Cayley–Dickson algebras. The study focuses on the integration of the Hadamard matrix into these algebras, highlighting its role in establishing a crucial subgroup of the automorphism group. This involves treating each row vector of the matrix as a diagonal matrix. A key finding is the transformation of the Witt basis into the classical basis under the influence of the Hadamard transforms, illustrating a deep connection between these elements. The research also reveals how Hermitian Clifford vectors correspond to twisted vectors through these transforms. Moreover, it introduces a novel method for converting vectors into Cayley–Dickson numbers, expanding the scope of vector manipulation. This advancement allows for the expansion of unit-length vectors into orthogonal matrices, significantly enriching the field of Clifford analysis. Hadamard transforms also facilitate the definition of Hermitian Dirac operators, intricately connected to split complex numbers. The research establishes the Borel-Pompeiu integral formula and the Teodorescu transform for these operators, drawing on their relationship with twisted complex structures. This approach not only uncovers direct relationships between orthogonal and Hermitian Clifford analysis but also introduces the Almansi decomposition and Hermitian Clifford wavelet transforms.

Moreover, we find a structure of nonunitary ring over Fibonacci quaternions over Z3 and we present a method to encrypt plain texts, by using invertible elements in such algebras.

Abstract:We define a concept of Hecke algebra for structure groups of set-theoretical solutions to the Yang--Baxter equation. As a comparison to Artin--Tits groups of spherical type, we study some properties of this construction, while also highlighting some differences that appear, which shows a difference between finite Coxeter groups and the "Coxeter-like" group introduced by Dehornoy. We also relate this definition to known constructions on solutions (retractions). Finally, we study a particular case related to Torus Knot groups and Complex Reflexion groups.

Abstract:C*-algebras are widely used in mathematical physics to represent the observables of physical systems, and are sometimes taken as the starting point for rigorous formulations of quantum mechanics and classical statistical mechanics. Nevertheless, in many cases the naive choice of an algebra of observables does not admit a C*-algebra structure, and some massaging is necessary. In this paper we investigate what properties of C*-algebras carry over to more general algebras and what modifications of the Gelfand theory of normed algebras are necessary. We use category theory as a guide and, by replacing the ordinary definition of the Gelfand spectrum with a manifestly functorial definition, we succeed in generalizing the Gelfand-Naimark theorem to locally convex *-algebras. We also recall a little-known but potentially very useful generalization of the Stone-Weierstrass theorem to completely regular, Hausdorff spaces.

Abstract:The Cayley-Dickson Construction is a generalization of the familiar construction of the complex numbers from pairs of real numbers. The complex numbers can be viewed as two-dimensional vectors equipped with a multiplication. The construction can be used to construct, not only the two-dimensional Complex Numbers, but also the four-dimensional Quaternions and the eight-dimensional Octonions. Each of these vector spaces has a vector multiplication, v_1*v_2, that satisfies: 1. Each nonzero vector has a multiplicative inverse. 2. For the Euclidean length of a vector |v|, |v_1 * v_2| = |v_1| |v2|. Real numbers can also be viewed as (one-dimensional) vectors with the above two properties. ACL2(r) is used to explore this question: Given a vector space, equipped with a multiplication, satisfying the Euclidean length condition 2, given above. Make pairs of vectors into "new" vectors with a multiplication. When do the newly constructed vectors also satisfy condition 2?

Pursuing Coxeter theory for Kac-Moody affine Hecke algebras

Abstract:The Kac-Moody affine Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}$ was first constructed as the Iwahori-Hecke algebra of a $p$-adic Kac-Moody group by work of Braverman, Kazhdan, and Patnaik, and by work of Bardy-Panse, Gaussent, and Rousseau. Since $\mathcal{H}$ has a Bernstein presentation, for affine types it is a positive-level variation of Cherednik's double affine Hecke algebra. Moreover, as $\mathcal{H}$ is realized as a convolution algebra, it has an additional "$T$-basis" corresponding to indicator functions of double cosets. For classical affine Hecke algebras, this $T$-basis reflects the Coxeter group structure of the affine Weyl group. In the Kac-Moody affine context, the indexing set $W_{\mathcal{T}}$ for the $T$-basis is no longer a Coxeter group. Nonetheless, $W_{\mathcal{T}}$ carries some Coxeter-like structures: a Bruhat order, a length function, and a notion of inversion sets. This paper contains the first steps toward a Coxeter theory for Kac-Moody affine Hecke algebras. We prove three results. The first is a construction of the length function via a representation of $\mathcal{H}$. The second concerns the support of products in classical affine Hecke algebras. The third is a characterization of length deficits in the Kac-Moody affine setting via inversion sets. Using this characterization, we phrase our support theorem as a precise conjecture for Kac-Moody affine Hecke algebras. Lastly, we give a conjectural definition of a Kac-Moody affine Demazure product via the $q=0$ specialization of $\mathcal{H}$.

Abstract:This article introduces the duplex Hecke algebra, which is an infinite dimensional algebra generated by two Hecke algebras. This concept originates from the degenerate duplex Hecke algebra in the theory of Schur-Weyl duality related to enhanced reductive algebraic groups. We will study the finite dimensional natural representation of the duplex Hecke algebra on tensor space and prove that the duplex Hecke algebra forms a duality with the Levi type quantum group.
