Abstract:We present an asymptotic evaluation unitary formula for large argument values existing for defined class of functions. The asymptotic evaluation is obtained using only power series expansion coefficients of a function, what is a new result in power series analytic continuation theory.

Abstract:We present a sufficient condition of existence of asymptotic expansion in negative power series for a function defined by Taylor series and unitary formulas for coefficients of this expansion. An example of computing scheme for arctangent function is represented.

Abstract:where / ( / ) is a differentiate function defined on the real number interval [a, b), and x may be a real or complex number with x*0 and x*l. Obviously, the case for x = l of (1.1) could be generally treated by means of the well-known Euler-Maclaurin summation formula. The object of this paper is to find a general summation formula for (1.1) that could be applied readily to some interesting special cases, e.g., those with f{i)-t (2 ei?), / ( / ) = logf (V>1), and f(t) = q (0<q<l)9 respectively. Related results will be presented in Sections 3-5. Recall that for the particular case f(t) = t and [a, b) = [0, oo) with/? being a positive integer, we have the classical result (cf. [1], [2], [4])

Abstract:Siegel in 1932 published a paper on Riemann's posthumous writings, including a study of the Riemann-Siegel formula. In this paper we explicitly give the asymptotic developments of $\mathop{\mathcal R }(s)$ suggested by Siegel. We extend the range of validity of these asymptotic developments. As a consequence we specify a region in which the function $\mathop{\mathcal R }(s)$ has no zeros. We also give complete proofs of some of Siegel's assertions. We also include a theorem on the asymptotic behaviour of $\mathop{\mathcal R }(\frac12-it)$ for $t \to+\infty$. Although the real part of $e^{-i\vartheta(t)}\mathop{\mathcal R }(\frac12-it)$ is $Z(t)$ the imaginary part grows exponentially, this is why for the study of the zeros of $Z(t)$ it is preferable to consider $\mathop{\mathcal R }(\frac12+it)$ for $t>0$.

Abstract:In this short article we propose a full large $N$ asymptotic expansion of the probability that the $m^{\text{th}}$ power of a random unitary matrix of size $N$ has all its eigenvalues in a given arc-interval centered in $1$ when $N$ is large. This corresponds to the asymptotic expansion of a Toeplitz determinant whose symbol is the indicator function of several intervals having a discrete rotational symmetry. This solves and improves a conjecture left opened by the author. It also provides a rare example of the explicit computation of a full asymptotic expansion of a genus $g>0$ classical spectral curve, including the oscillating non-perturbative terms, using the topological recursion.

A numeric study of power expansions around singular points of algebraic functions, their radii of convergence, and accuracy profiles

Abstract:An efficient method of computing power expansions of algebraic functions is the method of Kung and Traub and is based on exact arithmetic. This paper shows a numeric approach is both feasible and accurate while also introducing a performance improvement to Kung and Traub's method based on the ramification extent of the expansions. A new method is then described for computing radii of convergence using a series comparison test. Series accuracies are then fitted to a simple log-linear function in their domain of convergence and found to have low variance. Algebraic functions up to degree 50 were analyzed and timed. A consequence of this work provided a simple method of computing the Riemann surface genus and was used as a cycle check-sum. Mathematica ver. 13.2 was used to acquire and analyze the data on a 4.0 GHz quad-core desktop computer.

Abstract:This is a lecture on the theory of formal power series developed entirely without any analytic machinery. Combining ideas from various authors we are able to prove Newton's binomial theorem, Jacobi's triple product, the Rogers--Ramanujan identities and many other prominent results. We apply these methods to derive several combinatorial theorems including Ramanujan's partition congruences, generating functions of Stirling numbers and Jacobi's four-square theorem. We further discuss formal Laurent series and multivariate power series and end with a proof of MacMahon's master theorem.

Abstract:Let In this paper, we consider a system of singularly perturbed linear holomorphic q -difference equations with a small parameter. This system has a formal power series solution with respect to the parameter with holomorphic coefficients such that the domain of coefficients becomes progressively smaller. The purpose of this paper is to construct a true holomorphic solution of the system that admits this formal power series solution as an asymptotic expansion with respect to the parameter.

Abstract:We perform an asymptotic evaluation of the Hankel transform, $\int_0^{\infty}J_{\nu}(\lambda x) f(x)\mathrm{d}x$, for arbitrarily large $\lambda$ of an entire exponential type function, $f(x)$, of type $\tau$ by shifting the contour of integration in the complex plane. Under the situation that $J_{\nu}(\lambda x)f(x)$ has an odd parity with respect to $x$ and the condition that the asymptotic parameter $\lambda$ is greater than the type $\tau$, we obtain an exactly terminating Poincar{é} expansion without any trailing subdominant exponential terms. That is the Hankel transform evaluates exactly into a polynomial in inverse $\lambda$ as $\lambda$ approaches infinity.

Abstract:This note is concerned with series of the forms $\sum f(a^n)$ and $\sum f(n^{-a})$ where f(a) possesses a Mellin transform and $a > 1$ or $a<0$ respectively. Integral representations are derived and used to transform these series in several ways yielding a selection of interesting integral evaluations involving Riemann's function $\zeta(s)$, limits and series representations containing hyperpowers. A number of examples of such sums are provided, each of which is investigated for possible new structure. In one case, we obtain a generalization of Riemann's classic relationship among the Zeta, Gamma and Jacobi Theta functions.

Abstract:The Cayley-Hamilton theorem is used to implement an iterative process for the efficient numerical computation of matrix power series and their differentials. In addition to straight-forward applications in lattice gauge theory simulations e.g. to reduce the computational cost of smearing, the method can also be used to simplify the evaluation of SU(N) one-link integrals or the computation of SU(N) matrix logarithms.

Abstract:Some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Cohen-Ramanujan expansions for arithmetical functions were provided by these authors in [\textit{arXive preprint arXive:<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2205.08466" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2205.08466">2205.08466</a>}, 2022]. Given two arithmetical functions $f$ and $g$ with absolutely convergent Cohen-Ramanujan expansions, we derive an asymptotic formula for $\sum_{n\leq N}f(n)g(n+h)$ where $h$ is a fixed positive integer. We also provide Cohen-Ramanujan expansions for certain functions to illustrate some of the results we prove consequently.

Abstract:In this paper, we present five different formulas for both discrete and fractional iterations of an invertible power series $f$ utilizing a novel and unifying approach from umbral calculus. Established formulas are extended, and their proofs simplified, while new formulas are introduced. In particular, through the use of $q$-calculus identities, we eliminate the requirement for $f'(0)$ to equal $1$ and, consequently, the corresponding new expressions for the iterative logarithm are derived.

Abstract:Solutions of nonlinear functional equations are generally not expressed as a finite number of combinations and compositions of elementary and known special functions. One of the approaches to study them is, firstly, to find formal solutions (that is, series whose terms are described and ordered in some way but which do not converge apriori) and, secondly, to study the convergence or summability of these formal solutions (the existence and uniqueness of actual solutions with the given asymptotic expansion in a certain domain). In this paper we deal only with the convergence of formal functional series having the form of an infinite sum of power functions with (complex, in general) power exponents and satisfying analytical functional equations of the following three types: a differential, $q$-difference or Mahler equation.

Abstract:We unwind the induction implicit in the "one-step" asymptotic expansions of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1701.02417" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1701.02417">arXiv:1701.02417</a> to describe how to turn asymptotic expansions, such as (but not limited to) the Harish-Chandra--Howe local character expansion, for depth-(0) supercuspidal characters into Kim--Murnaghan-type asymptotic expansions for arbitrary positive-depth, tame, supercuspidal characters. Doing so requires analogous results for Fourier transforms of orbital integrals on the Lie algebra of a reductive group, which are of independent interest.

Abstract:We prove a general result on representing the Riemann zeta function as a convergent infinite series in a complex vertical strip containing the critical line. We use this result to re-derive known expansions as well as to discover new series representations of the Riemann zeta function in terms of the incomplete gamma functions, generalized hypergeometric functions and Meijer $G$-functions.
