Abstract:We characterise algebras commutative with respect to a Yang-Baxter operator (quasi-commutative algebras) in terms of certain cosimplicial complexes. In some cases this characterisation allows the classification of all possible quasi-commutative structures.

Abstract:Abstract This work is a development of braids, tensor categories and Yang–Baxter operators. According to Li [Li, F. (1998). Weak Hopf algebras and some new solution of quantum Yang-Baxter equation. J. Algebra 208:72–100; Li, F. (2000). Solutions of Yang-Baxter equation in endomorphism semigroup and quasi-(co)braided almost bialgebras. Comm. Algebra 28(5):2253–2270], it can be seen as a continuation of studying (not necessarily invertible) solutions of the (quantum) Yang–Baxter equation. We firstly introduce the right braid monoids and discuss their properties. Then, we define pre-tensor categories, pre-tensor functors and quasi-braided pre-tensor categories, and investiage their characterizations. Three examples are given from respectively a weak Hopf algebra, a crossed S-set of a Clifford monoid and the (strict) right braid category. Two universalities of the (strict) right braid category are gotten in order to characterize a category of general Yang–Baxter operators and a quasi-braided pre-tensor category. In a pre-tensor category we build a general centre of a pre-tensor category as a generalization of a centre and show that it is a quasi-braided pre-tensor category. At the end, a categorical interpretation of the quantum quasi-double of a weak Hapf algebra is obtained under a certain condition.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to study the solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation in the endomorphism semigroup of the tensor product of a vector space. As preparation, we introduce the concepts of quasi-braided almost bialgebra (see also [10]) and quasi-cobraided almost bialgebra, and discuss some of their properties. In particular, it is shown that the quasi-R-matrix R of every quasi-braided almost weak Hopf algebra is regular under von Neumann's meaning. The solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation in the endomorphism semigroups are constructed respectively from every quasi-braided almost bialgebra and every quasi-cobraided almost bialgebra. As examples, we explain how to build solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation from some weak Hopf algebras and all Clifford monoids. Finally, the FRT construction is given so-as to build every solution of the Yang-Baxter equation from a quasi-cobraided bialgebra.

Abstract:We define algebras of quasi-quaternion type, which are symmetric algebras of tame representation type whose stable module category has certain structure similar to that of the algebras of quaternion type introduced by Erdmann. We observe that symmetric tame algebras that are also 2-CY-tilted are of quasi-quaternion type. We present a combinatorial construction of such algebras by introducing the notion of triangulation quivers. The class of algebras that we get contains Erdmann's algebras of quaternion type on the one hand and the Jacobian algebras of the quivers with potentials associated by Labardini to triangulations of closed surfaces with punctures on the other hand, hence it serves as a bridge between modular representation theory of finite groups and cluster algebras.

Abstract:Axial algebras are commutative nonassociative algebras generated by a finite set of primitive idempotents which action on an algebra is semisimple, and the fusion laws on the products between eigenvectors for these idempotents are fulfilled. We find the sufficient conditions in terms of the Frobenius form and of the properties of idempotents under which an axial algebra of Jordan type half is unital.

Cohomological Hall algebras of quivers and Yangians

Abstract:We construct an isomorphism between the preprojective cohomological Hall algebra of an arbitrary quiver and a positive half of the corresponding Maulik-Okounkov Yangian, which intertwines the respective actions on the cohomology of the Nakajima quiver varieties. We use this to prove a conjecture of Okounkov relating the character of the Maulik-Okounkov Lie algebra to Kac polynomials.

Abstract:Using Araki–Yamagami's characterization of quasi-equivalence for quasi-free representations of the CCRs, we provide an abstract criterion for the existence of isomorphisms of second quantization local von Neumann algebras induced by Bogolubov transformations in terms of the respective one particle modular operators. We discuss possible applications to the problem of local normality of vacua of Klein-Gordon fields with different masses.

Abstract:The quantum Yang-Baxter equation admits generalisations to systems of Yang-Baxter type equations called Yang-Baxter systems. Starting from algebra structures, we propose new constructions of some constant as well as the spectral-parameter dependent Yang-Baxter systems. Besides, we also present explicitly the commutation algebra structure associated to the constant type in dimension two.

Abstract:We study the Yang-Baxter algebras $A(K,X,r)$ associated to finite set-theoretic solutions $(X,r)$ of the braid relations. We introduce an equivalent set of quadratic relations $\Re\subseteq G$, where $G$ is the reduced Gröbner basis of $(\Re)$. We show that if $(X,r)$ is left-nondegenerate and idempotent then $\Re= G$ and the Yang-Baxter algebra is PBW. We use graphical methods to study the global dimension of PBW algebras in the $n$-generated case and apply this to Yang-Baxter algebras in the left-nondegenerate idempotent case. We study the $d$-Veronese subalgebras for a class of quadratic algebras and use this to show that for $(X,r)$ left-nondegenerate idempotent, the $d$-Veronese subalgebra $A(K,X,r)^{(d)}$ can be identified with $A(K,X,r^{(d)})$, where $(X,r^{(d)})$ are all left-nondegenerate idempotent solutions. We determined the Segre product in the left-nondegenerate idempotent setting. Our results apply to a previously studied class of `permutation idempotent' solutions, where we show that all their Yang-Baxter algebras for a given cardinality of $X$ are isomorphic and are isomorphic to their $d$-Veronese subalgebras. In the linearised setting, we construct the Koszul dual of the Yang-Baxter algebra and the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra in the idempotent case, showing that the latter is quadratic. We also construct noncommutative differentials on some of these quadratic algebras.

Lie, associative and commutative quasi-isomorphism

Abstract:Over a field of characteristic zero, we show that two commutative differential graded (dg) algebras are quasi-isomorphic if and only if they are quasi-isomorphic as associative dg algebras. This answers a folklore problem in rational homotopy theory, showing that the rational homotopy type of a space is determined by its associative dg algebra of rational cochains. We also show a Koszul dual statement, under an additional completeness hypothesis: two homotopy complete dg Lie algebras whose universal enveloping algebras are quasi-isomorphic as associative dg algebras must themselves be quasi-isomorphic. The latter result applies in particular to nilpotent Lie algebras (not differential graded), in which case it says that two nilpotent Lie algebras whose universal enveloping algebras are isomorphic as associative algebras must be isomorphic.

Abstract:A quasi-hereditary algebra is an Artin algebra together with a partial order on its set of isomorphism classes of simple modules which satisfies certain conditions. In this article we investigate all the possible choices that yield to quasi-hereditary structures on a given algebra, in particular we introduce and study what we call the poset of quasi-hereditary structures. Our techniques involve certain quiver decompositions and idempotent reductions. For a path algebra of Dynkin type $\mathbb{A}$, we provide a full classification of its quasi-hereditary structures. For types $\mathbb{D}$ and $\mathbb{E}$, we give a counting method for the number of quasi-hereditary structures. In the case of a hereditary incidence algebra, we present a necessary and sufficient condition for its poset of quasi-hereditary structures to be a lattice.

Abstract:We define some new algebraic structures, termed colored Hopf algebras, by combining the coalgebra structures and antipodes of a standard Hopf algebra set ℋ, corresponding to some parameter set 𝒬, with the transformations of an algebra isomorphism group 𝒢, herein called color group. Such transformations are labeled by some color parameters, taking values in a color set 𝒞. We show that various classes of Hopf algebras, such as almost cocommutative, coboundary, quasitriangular, and triangular ones, can be extended into corresponding colored algebraic structures, and that colored quasitriangular Hopf algebras, in particular, are characterized by the existence of a colored universal ℛ-matrix, satisfying the colored Yang–Baxter equation. The present definitions extend those previously introduced by Ohtsuki, which correspond to some substructures in those cases where the color group is Abelian. We apply the new concepts to construct colored quantum universal enveloping algebras of both semisimple and nonsemisimple Lie algebras, considering several examples with fixed or varying parameters. As a by-product, some of the matrix representations of colored universal ℛ-matrices, derived in the present paper, provide new solutions of the colored Yang–Baxter equation, which might be of interest in the context of integrable models.

Abstract:We investigate the property of commutator-simplicity in algebras from both algebraic and analytic perspectives. We demonstrate that a large class of algebras possess this property. As an analytic analog, we introduce the concept of topological commutator-simplicity for Banach algebras and establish that a -unital -algebra is topological commutator-simple if and only if its multiplier algebra is. Furthermore, we explore the applications of commutator-simplicity to certain equations involving commutators, emphasizing its relevance in the study of derivations. Specifically, we obtain that every continuous local derivation on is a derivation when G is a unimodular locally compact group with a diagonal bounded weight .

Abstract:In earlier work of three of the authors of the present paper, a supercommutative quadratic algebra was associated to each symmetric quiver, and a new proof of positivity of motivic Donaldson-Thomas invariants of symmetric quivers was given using the so called numerical Koszul property of these algebras. It was furthermore conjectured that for each symmetric quiver such an algebra is Koszul. In this work, we lift the linking and unlinking operations on symmetric quivers of Ekholm, Longhi and the third author to the level of quadratic algebras, and use those lifts to prove the Koszulness conjecture.

Quasi-BPS categories for symmetric quivers with potential

Abstract:We study certain categories associated to symmetric quivers with potential, called quasi-BPS categories. We construct semiorthogonal decompositions of the categories of matrix factorizations for moduli stacks of representations of (framed or unframed) symmetric quivers with potential, where the summands are categorical Hall products of quasi-BPS categories. These results generalize our previous results about the three loop quiver. We prove several properties of quasi-BPS categories: wall-crossing equivalence, strong generation, and categorical support lemma in the case of tripled quivers with potential. We also introduce reduced quasi-BPS categories for preprojective algebras, which have trivial relative Serre functor and are indecomposable when the weight is coprime with the total dimension. In this case, we regard the reduced quasi-BPS categories as noncommutative local hyperkähler varieties, and as (twisted) categorical versions of crepant resolutions of singularities of good moduli spaces of representations of preprojective algebras. The studied categories include the local models of quasi-BPS categories of K3 surfaces. In a follow-up paper, we establish analogous properties for quasi-BPS categories of K3 surfaces.

Abstract:Braided algebras are associative algebras endowed with a Yang-Baxter operator that satisfies certain compatibility conditions involving the multiplication. Along with Hochschild cohomology of algebras, there is also a notion of Yang-Baxter cohomology, which is associated to any Yang-Baxter operator. In this article, we introduce and study a cohomology theory for braided algebras in dimensions 2 and 3, that unifies Hochschild and Yang-Baxter cohomology theories. We show that its second cohomology group classifies infinitesimal deformations of braided algebras. We provide infinite families of examples of braided algebras, including Hopf algebras, tensorized multiple conjugation quandles, and braided Frobenius algebras. Moreover, we derive the obstructions to quadratic deformations, and show that these obstructions lie in the third cohomology group. Relations to Hopf algebra cohomology are also discussed.

Abstract:A self-dual algebras is one isomorphic as a module to the opposite of its dual; a quasi self-dual algebra is one whose cohomology with coefficients in itself is isomorphic to that with coefficients in the opposite of its dual. For these algebras, cohomology with coefficients in itself, which governs its deformation theory, is a contravariant functor of the algebra. Finite dimensional self-dual algebras over a field are identical with symmetric Frobenius algebras. (The monoidal category of commutative Frobenius algebras is known to be equivalent to that of 1+1 dimensional topological quantum field theories.) All finite poset algebras are quasi self-dual.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of the quasitriangularity of Hopf algebras via Hopf quiver approaches. We give a combinatorial description of the Hopf quivers whose path coalgebras give rise to coquasitriangular Hopf algebras. With a help of the quiver setting, we study general coquasitriangular pointed Hopf algebras and obtain a complete classification of the finite-dimensional ones over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0.
Construction of a $C^*$-algebraic quantum groupoid from a weak multiplier Hopf algebra

Abstract:Van Daele and Wang developed a purely algebraic notion of weak multiplier Hopf algebras, which extends the notions of Hopf algebras, multiplier Hopf algebras, and weak Hopf algebras. With an additional requirement of an existence of left or right integrals, this framework provides a self-dual class of algebraic quantum groupoids. The aim of this paper is to show that from this purely algebraic data, with only some relatively minimal additional requirements (``quasi-invariance''), one can construct a $C^*$-algebraic quantum groupoid of separable type, recently defined by the author with Van Daele. The $C^*$-algebraic quantum groupoid is represented as an operator algebra on the Hilbert space constructed from the left integral, and the comultiplication is determined by means of a certain multiplicative partial isometry $W$, which is no longer unitary. In the last section (Appendix), we obtain some results in the purely algebraic setting, which have not appeared elsewhere.

Abstract:We give a generators-and-relations description of the reduced versions of quiver quantum toroidal algebras, which act on the spaces of BPS states associated to (non-compact) toric Calabi-Yau threefolds X. As an application, we obtain a description of the K-theoretic Hall algebra of (the quiver with potential associated to) X, modulo torsion.
