Abstract:In this paper, we first prove the strong Birkhoff Ergodic Theorem for subharmonic functions with the irrational shift on the Torus. Then, we apply it to the analytic quasi-periodic Jacobi cocycles and show that for suitable frequency and coupling number, if the Lyapunov exponent of these cocycles is positive at one point, then it is positive on an interval centered at this point and Hölder continuous in \begin{document}$ E $\end{document} on this interval. What's more, if the coupling number of the potential is large, then the Lyapunov exponent is always positive for all irrational frequencies and Hölder continuous in \begin{document}$ E $\end{document} for all finite Liouville frequencies. For the Schrödinger cocycles, a special case of the Jacobi ones, its Lyapunov exponent is also Hölder continuous in the frequency and the lengths of the intervals where the Hölder condition of the Lyapunov exponent holds only depend on the coupling number.

Abstract:When analytic quasi-periodic cocycles are defined on a high dimension torus, their Lyapunov exponents have perturbative positivity and continuity. In this article, we study a class of analytic quasi-periodic Jacobi cocycles defined on a two dimension torus. We show that in the non-perturbative large coupling regimes, the Lyapunov exponent is positive for any frequency and weak Holder continuous for the full-measured frequency.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct a class of special Jacobi cocycles, some element of which is a measurable function defined on the high dimensional torus. We prove that no matter the underlying dynamics is the shift or the skew-shift, the non-perturbative positive Lyapunov exponent holds for any irrational frequency, when the coupling number is large. What's more, if the frequency becomes to be the Diophantine number, then the Lyapunov exponent is weak continuity in the energy.

Abstract:It is known that the Lyapunov exponent is not continuous at certain points in the space of continuous quasi-periodic cocycles. We show that the Lyapunov exponent is continuous for a higher-dimensional analytic category in this paper. It has a modulus of continuity of the form exp(−∣logt∣ σ ) for some 0 < σ < 1.

Abstract:Motivated by the notion of multiplicative calculus, more precisely multiplicative derivatives, we used the concept of subordination to create a new class of starlike functions. Because we attempted to operate within the existing framework of the design of analytic functions, a number of restrictions, which are in fact strong constraints, have been placed. We redefined our new class of functions using the three-parameter Mittag–Leffler function (Srivastava–Tomovski generalization of the Mittag–Leffler function), in order to increase the study's adaptability. Coefficient estimates and their Fekete-Szegő inequalities are our main results. We have included a couple of examples to show the closure and inclusion properties of our defined class. Further, interesting bounds of logarithmic coefficients and their corresponding Fekete–Szegő functionals have also been obtained.

Abstract:We construct cocycles for $GL_n(\mathbb{Q})$ valued in cup products of units on the $n$-dimensional algebraic torus $\mathbb{G}_m^n$ over an arbitrary DVR, viewed in Milnor $K$-theory or motivic cohomology. We show how various combinatorially-defined complexes encoding linear algebraic data capture the structure of these cup products inside motivic complexes, and examine some properties of the resulting classes. This generalizes work of Sharifi and Venkatesh in the case $n=2$, in which case pullbacks of the resulting cocycle to an arithmetic base are of central importance in the Sharifi conjectures.

Abstract:Sarnak's M\"obius disjointness conjecture states that M\"obius function is disjoint to any zero entropy dynamics. We prove that M\"obius disjointness conjecture holds for one-frequency analytic quasi-periodic cocycles which are almost reducible, which extend \cite{LS15,W17} to the noncommutative case. The proof relies on quantitative version of almost reducibility.

Abstract:It is known that the Lyapunov exponent for multifrequency analytic cocycles is weak-Hölder continuous in cocycle for certain Diophantine frequencies, and that this implies certain regularity of the integrated density of states in energy for Jacobi operators. In this paper, we establish the pointwise modulus of continuity in both cocycle and frequency and obtain analogous regularity of the integrated density of states in energy, potential, and frequency.

Uniform quasi-multiplicativity of locally constant cocycles and applications

Abstract:In this paper, we show that a locally constant cocycle $\mathcal{A}$ is $k$-quasi multiplicative under the irreducibility assumption. More precisely, we show that if $\mathcal{A}^t$ and $\mathcal{A}^{\wedge m}$ are irreducible for every $t \mid d$ and $1\leq m \leq d-1$, then $\mathcal{A}$ is $k$-uniformly spannable for some $k\in \mathbb{N}$, which implies that $\mathcal{A}$ is $k$-quasi multiplicative. We apply our results to show that the unique subadditive equilibrium Gibbs state is $\psi$-mixing and calculate the Hausdorff dimension of cylindrical shrinking target and recurrence sets.

Persistence of Heterodimensional Cycles

Abstract:A heterodimensional cycle is an invariant set of a dynamical system consisting of two hyperbolic periodic orbits with different dimensions of their unstable manifolds and a pair of orbits that connect them. For systems which are at least $C^2$, we show that bifurcations of a coindex-1 heterodimensional cycle within a generic 2-parameter family create robust heterodimensional dynamics, i.e., a pair of non-trivial hyperbolic basic sets with different numbers of positive Lyapunov exponents, such that the unstable manifold of each of the sets intersects the stable manifold of the second set and these intersections persist for an open set of parameter values. We also give a solution to the so-called local stabilization problem of coindex-1 heterodimensional cycles in any regularity class $r=2,\ldots,\infty,\omega$. The results are based on the observation that arithmetic properties of moduli of topological conjugacy of systems with heterodimensional cycles determine the emergence of Bonatti-Díaz blenders.

Abstract:For typical properly ordered and minimal Bratteli diagrams $(B,\leq_r)$, it is shown that there are finitely many invariant distributions $\mathcal{D}_i$ which are the only obstructions to solving the cohomological equation $f = u-u\circ \phi$ for the corresponding adic transformation $\phi:X_B\rightarrow X_B$ and for $\alpha$-Hölder $f$ with $\alpha$ large enough. These invariant distributions are then used to define cyclic cocycles, a.k.a. traces $\tau:K_0(\mathcal{A}_\phi)\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ for the crossed product algebra $\mathcal{A}_\phi$.

On regularity of conjugacy between linear cocycles over partially hyperbolic systems

Abstract:We consider Hölder continuous $GL(d,\mathbb R)$-valued cocycles, and more generally linear cocycles, over an accessible volume-preserving center-bunched partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism. We study the regularity of a conjugacy between two cocycles. We establish continuity of a measurable conjugacy between {\em any} constant $GL(d,\mathbb R)$-valued cocycle and its perturbation. We deduce this from our main technical result on continuity of a measurable conjugacy between a fiber bunched linear cocycle and a cocycle with a certain block-triangular structure. The latter class covers constant cocycles with one Lyapunov exponent. We also establish a result of independent interest on continuity of measurable solutions for twisted vector-valued cohomological equations over partially hyperbolic systems. In addition, we give more general versions of earlier results on regularity of invariant subbudles, Riemannian metrics, and conformal structures.

Continuous-time extensions of discrete-time cocycles

Abstract:We consider linear cocycles taking values in $\textup{SL}_d(\mathbb{R})$ driven by homeomorphic transformations of a smooth manifold, in discrete and continuous time. We show that any discrete-time cocycle can be extended to a continuous-time cocycle, while preserving its characteristic properties. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition under which this extension is natural in the sense that the base is extended to an associated suspension flow and that the dimension of the cocycle does not change. Further, we refine our general result for the case of (quasi-)periodic driving. As an example, we present a discrete-time cocycle due to Michael Herman. The Furstenberg--Kesten limits of this cocycle do not exist everywhere and its Oseledets splitting is discontinuous. Our results on the continuous-time extension of discrete-time cocycles allow us to construct a continuous-time cocycle with analogous properties.

The p-cycle of Holonomic D-modules and Quantization of Exact Algebraic Lagrangians

Abstract:Let $X=\mathbb{A}^{n}$ be complex affine space, and let $T^{*}X$ be its cotangent bundle. For any exact Lagrangian $L\subset T^{*}X$, we define a new invariant, A, living in $ \text{Div}_{\mathbb{Q}/\mathbb{Z}}(L)$. We call this invariant the monodromy divisor of $L$. We conjecture that the existence of a finite order character of $\pi_{1}(L$) whose monodromy is exactly A defines an obstruction to attaching a holonomic $\mathcal{D}_{X}$-module M associated to L - here, the association goes via positive characteristic and p-supports. In the case where $\mathbb{H}_{dR}^{1}(L)=0$, we prove this conjecture, and then go on the show that the set of such holonomic $\mathcal{D}_{X}$-modules forms a torsor over the group of finite order characters of $\pi_{1}$. This proves a version of a conjecture of Kontsevich. As a consequence, we deduce that the group of Morita autoequivalences of the n-th Weyl algebra is isomorphic to the group of symplectomorphisms of $T^{*}\mathbb{A}^{n}$. This generalizes an old theorem of Dixmier (in the case n=1) and settles a conjecture of Belov-Kanel and Kontsevich in general.

Higher-order signature cocycles for subgroups of mapping class groups and homology cylinders

Abstract:We define families of invariants for elements of the mapping class group of S, a compact orientable surface. Fix any characteristic subgroup H of pi_1(S) and restrict to J(H), any subgroup of mapping classes that induce the identity modulo H. To any unitary representation, r of pi_1(S)/H we associate a higher-order rho_r-invariant and a signature 2-cocycle sigma_r. These signature cocycles are shown to be generalizations of the Meyer cocycle. In particular each rho_r is a quasimorphism and each sigma_r is a bounded 2-cocycle on J(H). In one of the simplest non-trivial cases, by varying r, we exhibit infinite families of linearly independent quasimorphisms and signature cocycles. We show that the rho_r restrict to homomorphisms on certain interesting subgroups. Many of these invariants extend naturally to the full mapping class group and some extend to the monoid of homology cylinders based on S.

Abstract:In this paper, we pay attention to a weaker version of Walters's question on the existence of non-uniform cocycles for uniquely ergodic minimal dynamical systems on non-degenerate connected spaces. We will classify such dynamical systems into three classes: not totally uniquely ergodic; totally uniquely ergodic but not topological weakly mixing; totally uniquely ergodic and topological weakly mixing. We will give an affirmative answer to such question for the first two classes. Also, we will show the existence of such dynamical systems in the first class with arbitrary topological entropy.

Abstract:The first part of the paper explains how to encode a one-cocycle and a two-cocycle on a group $G$ with values in its representation by networks of planar trivalent graphs with edges labelled by elements of $G$, elements of the representation floating in the regions, and suitable rules for manipulation of these diagrams. When the group is a semidirect product, there is a similar presentation via overlapping networks for the two subgroups involved. M. Kontsevich and J.-L. Cathelineau have shown how to interpret the entropy of a finite random variable and infinitesimal dilogarithms, including their four-term functional relations, via 2-cocycles on the group of affine symmetries of a line. We convert their construction into a diagrammatical calculus evaluating planar networks that describe morphisms in suitable monoidal categories. In particular, the four-term relations become equalities of networks analogous to associativity equations. The resulting monoidal categories complement existing categorical and operadic approaches to entropy.
