Abstract:We prove a version of Koszul duality and the induced derived equivalence for Adams connected -algebras that generalizes the classical Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel Koszul duality. As an immediate consequence, we give a version of the Bernšte {\uı} n-Gel'fand-Gel'fand correspondence for Adams connected -algebras.We give various applications. For example, a connected graded algebra is Artin-Schelter regular if and only if its Ext-algebra $\Ext^\ast_A (k, k) $ is Frobenius. This generalizes a result of Smith in the Koszul case. If is Koszul and if both and its Koszul dual are noetherian satisfying a polynomial identity, then is Gorenstein if and only if is. The last statement implies that a certain Calabi-Yau property is preserved under Koszul duality.

Abstract:We study analogues of Kronecker coefficients for symmetric inverse semigroups, for dual symmetric inverse semigroups and for the inverse semigroups of bijections between subquotients of finite sets. In all cases, we reduce the problem of determination of such coefficients to some group-theoretic and combinatorial problems. For symmetric inverse semigroups, we provide an explicit formula in terms of the classical Kronecker and Littlewood–Richardson coefficients for symmetric groups.

Abstract:Schur-Weyl duality concerns the actions of $\text{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{C})$ and $S_{k}$ on tensor powers of the form $V^{\otimes k}$ for an $n$-dimensional vector space $V$. There are rich histories within representation theory, combinatorics, and statistical mechanics involving the study and use of diagram algebras, which arise through the restriction of the action of $\text{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{C})$ to subgroups of $\text{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{C})$. This leads us to consider further variants of Schur-Weyl duality, with the use of variants of the tensor space $V^{\otimes k}$. Instead of taking repeated tensor products of $V$, we make use of a freest commutative bilinear operation in place of $\otimes$, and this is motivated by an associated invariance property given by the action of $S_{k}$. By then taking the centralizer algebra with respect to the action of the group of permutation matrices in $\text{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{C})$, this gives rise to a diagram-like algebra spanned by a new class of combinatorial objects. We construct orbit-type bases for the centralizer algebras introduced in this paper, and we apply these bases to prove a combinatorial formula for the dimensions of our centralizer algebras.

Abstract:The rook monoid, also known as the symmetric inverse monoid, is the archetypal structure when it comes to extend the principle of symmetry. In this paper, we establish a Schur-Weyl duality between this monoid and an extension of the classical Schur algebra, which we name the extended Schur algebra. We also explain how this relates to Solomon's Schur-Weyl duality between the rook monoid and the general linear group and mention some advantages of our approach.

Abstract:In this paper we prove the Schur-Weyl duality between the symplectic group and the Brauer algebra over an arbitrary infinite field K. We show that the natural homomorphism from the Brauer algebra B(n)(-2m) to the endomorphism algebra of the tensor space (K(2m))(circle times n) as a module over the symplectic similitude group GS(p2m)(K) (or equivalently, as a module over the symplectic group Sp(2m)(K)) is always surjective. Another surjectivity, that of the natural homomorphism from the group algebra for GSp(2m)(K) to the endomorphism algebra of (K(2m))(circle times n) as a module over B(n)(-2m), is derived as an easy consequence of S. Oehms's results.

Abstract:We use a unified elementary approach to prove the second part of classical, mixed, super, and mixed super Schur-Weyl dualities for general linear groups and supergroups over an infinite ground field of arbitrary characteristic. These dualities describe the endomorphism algebras of the tensor space and mixed tensor space, respectively, over the group algebra of the symmetric group and the Brauer wall algebra, respectively. Our main new results are the second part of the mixed Schur-Weyl dualities and mixed super Schur-Weyl dualities over an infinite ground field of positive characteristic.

Abstract:In this article, we provide a comprehensive characterization of invariants of classical Lie superalgebras from the super-analog of the Schur-Weyl duality in a unified way. We establish $\mathfrak{g}$-invariants of the tensor algebra $T(\mathfrak{g})$, the supersymmetric algebra $S(\mathfrak{g})$, and the universal enveloping algebra $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{g})$ of a classical Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ corresponding to every element in centralizer algebras and their relationship under supersymmetrization. As a byproduct, we prove that the restriction on $T(\mathfrak{g})^{\mathfrak{g}}$ of the projection from $T(\mathfrak{g})$ to $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{g})$ is surjective, which enables us to determine the generators of the center $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{g})$ except for $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}$. Additionally, we present an alternative algebraic proof of the triviality of $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{p}_n)$. The key ingredient involves a technique lemma related to the symmetric group and Brauer diagrams.

Abstract:We establish explicit isomorphisms of two seemingly-different algebras, and their Schur algebras, arising from the centralizers of two different type B Weyl group actions in Schur-like dualities. We provide a presentation of the geometric counterpart of the above Schur algebras in Bao-Kujawa-Li-Wang (2018) specialized at $q=1$.

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a complex simple Lie algebra and $U_qL\mathfrak{g}$ the corresponding quantum affine algebra. We construct a functor ${}^{\theta}{\sf F}$ between finite-dimensional modules over a quantum symmetric pair of affine type $U_q\mathfrak{k}\subset U_qL{\mathfrak{g}}$ and an orientifold KLR algebra arising from a framed quiver with a contravariant involution, providing a boundary analogue of Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh generalized Schur-Weyl duality. With respect to their construction, our combinatorial model is further enriched with the poles of a trigonometric K-matrix intertwining the action of $U_q\mathfrak{k}$ on finite-dimensional $U_qL{\mathfrak{g}}$-modules. By construction, ${}^{\theta}{\sf F}$ is naturally compatible with the Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh functor in that, while the latter is a functor of monoidal categories, ${}^{\theta}{\sf F}$ is a functor of module categories. Relying on a suitable isomorphism à la Brundan-Kleshchev-Rouquier, we prove that ${}^{\theta}{\sf F}$ recovers the Schur-Weyl dualities due to Fan-Lai-Li-Luo-Wang-Watanabe in quasi-split type $\sf AIII$.

Abstract:We prove Turner's conjecture, which describes the blocks of the Hecke algebras of the symmetric groups up to derived equivalence as certain explicit Turner double algebras. Turner doubles are Schur-algebra-like `local' objects, which replace wreath products of Brauer tree algebras in the context of the Broué abelian defect group conjecture for blocks of symmetric groups with non-abelian defect groups. The main tools used in the proof are generalized Schur algebras corresponding to wreath products of zigzag algebras and imaginary semicuspidal quotients of affine KLR algebras.

Abstract:Schur–Weyl duality relates the representation theories of general linear and symmetric groups in defining characteristic and plays a central role in many parts of algebraic Lie theory. In this paper, we will introduce the notion of Schur–Weyl quasi-duality and study it. For this, generally, we consider a braided vector space (V,c) and its braided Lie algebra Endk(V)(−). Then, we can construct its braided enveloping algebra U(Endk(V)(−)), which is a connected braided c-cocommutative Hopf algebra. Let H be a triangular Hopf quasigroup with bijective antipode and B be a cotriangular Hopf quasigroup with bijective antipode. Let V be any finite dimensional vector space in the category LQ(H,R)(B,σ) of generalized Long quasimodules. We show that (U((EndkV)(−))⋆H⋆B,kSn,V⊗n) is a Schur–Weyl quasi-duality under suitable conditions.

Abstract:We prove Schur-Weyl duality between the Brauer algebra (n)(m) and the orthogonal group O(m)(K) over an arbitrary infinite field K of odd characteristic. If m is even, then we show that each connected component of the orthogonal monoid is a normal variety; this implies that the orthogonal Schur algebra associated to the identity component is a generalized Schur algebra. As an application of the main result, an explicit and characteristic-free description of the annihilator of n-tensor space V(circle times n) in the Brauer algebra (n)(m) is also given.

Abstract:We establish a q-version of the Schur-Weyl duality, in which the role of the symmetric group is played by the Hecke algebra and the role of the enveloping algebra U(gl(N)) is played by the Reflection Equation algebra, associated with any skew-invertible Hecke symmetry. Also, in each Reflection Equation algebra we define analogues of the Schur polynomials and power sums in two forms: as polynomials in generators of a given Reflection Equation algebra and in terms of the so-called eigenvalues of the generating matrix $L$, defined by means of the Cayley-Hamilton identity. It is shown that on any Reflection Equation algebra there exists a formula, which brings into correlation the Schur polynomials and power sums by means of the characters of the Hecke algebras in the spirit of the classical Frobenius formula.

Abstract:We study a non-commutative generalization of Stone duality that connects a class of inverse semigroups, called Boolean inverse $\wedge$-semigroups, with a class of topological groupoids, called Hausdorff Boolean groupoids. Much of the paper is given over to showing that Boolean inverse $\wedge$-semigroups arise as completions of inverse semigroups we call pre-Boolean. An inverse $\wedge$-semigroup is pre-Boolean if and only if every tight filter is an ultrafilter, where the definition of a tight filter is obtained by combining work of both Exel and Lenz. A simple necessary condition for a semigroup to be pre-Boolean is derived and a variety of examples of inverse semigroups are shown to satisfy it. Thus the polycyclic inverse monoids, and certain Rees matrix semigroups over the polycyclics, are pre-Boolean and it is proved that the groups of units of their completions are precisely the Thompson-Higman groups $G_{n,r}$. The inverse semigroups arising from suitable directed graphs are also pre-Boolean and the topological groupoids arising from these graph inverse semigroups under our non-commutative Stone duality are the groupoids that arise from the Cuntz-Krieger $C^{\ast}$-algebras.

Abstract:This paper studies biderivations on finite-dimensional complex semisimple Lie algebras to their finite-dimensional modules. More precisely, we prove that all such symmetric biderivations are trivial. As applications, we determine all biderivations on Takiff algebras and symplectic oscillator algebras, as well as all supersymmetric biderivations over some Lie superalgebras including all finite-dimensional classical simple Lie superalgebras.
