Abstract:From the Heisenberg uncertainty relation in conjunction with partial transposition, we derive a class of inequalities for detecting entanglements in four-mode states. The sufficient conditions for bipartite entangled states are presented. We also discuss the generalization of the entanglement conditions via the Schrödinger-Robertson indeterminacy relation, which are in general stronger than those based on the Heisenberg uncertainty relation.

Abstract:We demonstrate how to efficiently derive a broad class of inequalities for entanglement detection in multimode continuous variable systems. The separability conditions are established from partial transposition (PT) in combination with several distinct necessary conditions for a quantum physical state, which include previously established inequalities as special cases. Remarkably, our method enables us to support Peres' conjecture to its full generality within the framework of Cavalcanti-Foster-Reid-Drummond multipartite Bell inequality [Phys. Rev. Lett. 99, 210405 (2007)] that the nonlocality necessarily implies negative PT entangled states.

Abstract:We give a further investigation of the range criterion and low-to-high rank generating mode introduced in Chen and Chen [Phys. Rev. A 73, 052310 (2006)], which can be used for the classification of 2xMxN states under reversible local filtering operations. By using these techniques, we entirely classify the family of 2x4x4 states, which actually contains infinitely many kinds of states. The classifications of true entanglement of 2x(M+3)x(2M+3) and 2x(M+4)x(2M+4) systems are briefly listed, respectively.

Abstract:We derive a class of inequalities for detecting entanglement in the mixed SU(2) and SU(1, 1) systems based on the Schrödinger-Robertson indeterminacy relations in conjugation with the partial transposition. These inequalities are in general stronger than those based on the usual Heisenberg uncertainty relations for detecting entanglement. Furthermore, based on the complete reduction from SU(2) and SU(1, 1) systems to bosonic systems, we derive some entanglement conditions for two-mode systems. We also use the partial reduction to obtain some inequalities in the mixed SU(2) (or SU(1, 1)) and bosonic systems.
Diverse Entanglement Mechanisms in Multimode Nonlinear Continuous Variables

Abstract:Non-Gaussian entangled states play a crucial role in harnessing quantum advantage in continuous-variable quantum information. However, how to fully characterize N-partite (N > 3) non-Gaussian entanglement without quantum state tomography remains elusive, leading to a very limited understanding of the underlying entanglement mechanism. Here, we propose several necessary and sufficient conditions for the positive-partial-transposition separability of multimode nonlinear quantum states resulting from high-order Hamiltonians and successive beam splitting operations. When applied to the initial state, the beam-splitter operations induce the emergence of different types of entanglement mechanisms, including pairwise high-order entanglement, collective high-order entanglement and the crossover between the two. We show numerically that for the four-mode scenario, the threshold for the existence of entanglement for any bipartition does not exceed the entanglement of the original state at fixed high-order moments. These results provide a new perspective for understanding multipartite nonlinear entanglement and will promote their application in quantum information processing.

Abstract:Based on the partial transposition criterion on entanglement of a bipartite system, a necessary and sufficient condition for inseparability of two-mode Gaussian states is established in the non-diagonal coherent-state representation. The condition only depends on four elements of the correlation matrix characterizing the state in the representation.

Abstract:We propose a range criterion which is a sufficient and necessary condition satisfied by two pure states transformable with each other under reversible stochastic local operations assisted with classical communication. We also provide a systematic method for seeking all kinds of true entangled states in the $2\times{M}\times{N}$ system, and can effectively distinguish them by means of the range criterion. The efficiency of the criterion and the method is exhibited by the classification of true entanglement in some types of the tripartite systems.

Abstract:We introduce two independent quantifications for 3-mode and 4-mode entanglement. We investigate the conversion of one type of nonclassicality, i.e. single-mode nonclassicality, into another type of nonclassicality, i.e. multi-mode entanglement, in beam-splitters. We observe parallel behavior of the two quantifications. The methods can be generalized to the quantification of any multi-mode entanglement.

Abstract:We propose the concept of SLOCC-equivalent basis in the multiqubit space. In particular, two special SEBs, the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-(GHZ-) type and the W-type basis are introduced. They can make up a more general family of multiqubit states, the GHZ-W-type states, which is a useful kind of entanglement for quantum teleportation and error correction. We completely characterize the property of this type of state, and mainly classify the GHZ-type and the W-type states in a regular way, which is related to the enumerative combinatorics. Many concrete examples are given to exhibit our method of classification. We also propose the condition on which two GHZ-W-type states are interconvertible with probability 1.

Abstract:Based on the S-R indeterminacy relations in conjugation with the partial transposition, we derive a class of inequalities for detecting entanglement in several tripartite systems, including bosonic, SU(2), and SU(1,1) systems. These inequalities are in general stronger than those based on the usual Heisenberg relations for detecting entanglement. We also discuss the reduction from SU(2) and SU(1,1) to bosonic systems and the generalization to multipartite case.

Abstract:We present a new method of analytically deriving the entanglement of formation of the bipartite mixed state. The method realizes the optimal decomposition families of states. Our method can lead to many new results concerning entanglement of formation, its additivity and entanglement cost. We illustrate it by investigating the two-qubit state, the separable state, the maximally correlated state, the isotropic state and the Werner state.

Abstract:A Multipartite entangled state has many different kinds of entanglements specified by the number of partitions. The most essential example of multipartite entanglement is the entanglement of multi-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state in white noise. We explicitly construct the entanglement witnesses for these states with stabilizer generators of the GHZ states. For an [Formula: see text] qubit GHZ state in white noise, we demonstrate the necessary and sufficient criterion of separability when it is divided into [Formula: see text] parties with [Formula: see text] for arbitrary [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. The criterion covers more than a half of all kinds of partial entanglements for [Formula: see text]-qubit GHZ states in white noise. For the rest of multipartite entanglement problems, we present a method to obtain the sufficient conditions of separability. As an application, we consider [Formula: see text] qubit GHZ state as a codeword of the degenerate quantum code passing through depolarizing channel. We find that the output state is neither genuinely entangled nor fully separable when the quantum channel capacity reduces from positive to zero.
Precise Detection of Multipartite Entanglement in Fourqubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger Diagonal States

Abstract:We propose a method of constructing the separability criteria for multipartite quantum states on the basis of entanglement witnesses. The entanglement witnesses are obtained by finding the maximal expectation values of Hermitian operators and then optimizing over all possible Hermitian operators. We derive a set of tripartite separability criteria for the four-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) diagonal states. The derived criterion set contains four criteria that are necessary and sufficient for the tripartite separability of the highly symmetric four-qubit GHZ diagonal states; the criteria completely account for the numerically obtained boundaries of the tripartite separable state set. One of the criteria is just the tripartite separability criterion of the four-qubit generalized Werner states.

Abstract:The generation of triple-photon states by three-mode spontaneous parametric down-conversion has been recently demonstrated experimentally in the microwave regime and is an active area of research in the optical domain. These states comprise an unconditional resource of non-Gaussianity -- the essential asset for quantum advantage -- and display exotic entanglement features in the multimode case. However, a method fully characterizing this class of entanglement remains elusive. Here, we derive a hierarchy of sufficient conditions for full inseparability and genuine tripartite entanglement of general tripartite continuous variable states. We focus on the triple-photon states and demonstrate that the full inseparability condition is also necessary for them and, through numerical methods, that triple-photon states are fully inseparable and genuinely entangled in moments of order 3n.

Abstract:For a multipartite system, we sort out all possible entanglements, each of which is among a set of subsystems. Each entanglement can be measured by a generalized relative entropy of entanglement, which is conserved on average under reversible local operations and classical communication (LOCC) defined for all the parties. Then we derive a series of inequalities of different entanglements that have to be satisfied by any pure state which can be generated by reversible LOCC from the set of all GHZ-like states.

Abstract:We review some results on analytical computations of the measures for quantum entanglement: entanglement of formation and concurrence. We introduce some estimations of the lower bounds for the entanglement of formation in bipartite mixed states, and of lower bounds for the concurrence in bipartite and tripartite systems. The results on lower bounds for the concurrence are also generalized to arbitrary multipartite systems.

Abstract:We analytically exploit the two-mode Gaussian states nonunitary dynamics. We show that in the zero temperature limit, entanglement sudden death (ESD) will always occur for symmetric states (where initial single mode compression is $z_0$) provided the two mode squeezing $r_0$ satisfies $0 < r_0 < 1/2 \log (\cosh (2 z_0)).$ We also give the analytical expressions for the time of ESD. Finally, we show the relation between the single modes initial impurities and the initial entanglement, where we exhibit that the later is suppressed by the former.

Scalable multipartite entanglement criteria for continuous variables

Abstract:Multipartite entanglement detection is crucial for the develop of quantum information science and quantum computation, communication, simulation and metrology tasks. In contrast to experiments, where several handreds of qubits have been entangled to build a quantum computer or a quantum simulator, theoretically only for lower dimensional quantum system such as two qubit system or two-mode Gaussian state and some special quantum states, efficient criteria have been developed to detect the entanglement. An efficient and practical entanglement detection method is anticipated to appear for current scalable quantum system. Based on the matched entanglement witness scheme and integrated uncertainty relations, we propose a quite general entanglement detection method for all kinds of multipartite entanglement of multimode continuous variable systems. With the covariance matrix of any randomly generated multimode continuous variable quantum state, our criterion can detect entanglement, genuine entanglement and other kinds of inseparabilities almost imidiately.

Abstract:The detection of entanglement in a bipartite state is a crucial issue in quantum information science. Based on realignment of density matrices and the vectorization of the reduced density matrices, we introduce a new set of separability criteria. The proposed separability criteria can detect more entanglement than the previous separability criteria. Moreover, we provide new criteria for detecting the genuine tripartite entanglement and lower bounds for the concurrence and convex-roof extended negativity. The advantages of results are demonstrated through detailed examples.
