Abstract:We show that with the appropriate choice of coproduct, the type B quasisymmetric functions form a Hopf algebra, and the recently introduced type B peak functions form a Hopf subalgebra.

Abstract:In[3]and[6],the Hopf algebra structures of path algebra and path coalgebra on a Hopf quiver and a covering quiver respect to a weight sequence respectively were introduced independently.The main aim of this paper is to show the dually one-to-one correspondent relations between their structures(see Theorems 2.1 and 2.4).As applications,firstly,the authors obtain some important results about the Hopf algebra structure on the quotient of path algebra on a cycle;then,they prove that the Sweedler's fourdimensional Hopf algebra H4 is not only quasi-triangular but also co-quasi-triangular.Lastly,they characterize the graded automorphism group of the Hopf algebras on the path algebra of a Schurian covering quiver, according to that on the path coalgebra of a Schurian Hopf quiver.

Abstract:The theory of weak Hopf algebras is a development of the theory of Hopf algebras, which is important in the theory of quantum groups and the related theory of mathematical physics. In this paper, we give a survey of this theory and its applications.Firstly, we review some concepts related to weak Hopf algebras and their relationship and moreover, some algebraical structures. Secondly, we collect the generalizations of quantum double, i.e. quantum quasi-double and quantum G-double, constructed from some certain weak Hopf algebras so as to obtain a class of singular solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (QYBE). Their properties are also introduced in this part. Thirdly, as the important examples of weak Hopf algebras, some weaken quantized enveloping algebra are given which are associated with some generalizations of Lie algebra, such as generalized Kac-Moody algebra, Borcherds superalgebras. Moreover, their algebraic structures are discussed such that one can understand them clearly. Finally, some generalized notions of tensor category are introduced including pre-tensor category and weak tensor category and their braidings. They can be realized respectively from the categories of representations of the related classes of weak Hopf algebras and their quantum quasi-doubles. As the categorical version of a (singular) solutions of the QYBE, a general Yang-Baxter operator is studied. In summary, we list the diagrams of relations among these kinds of categories.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to use Clifford monoids to define weak Hopf quivers and to construct the corresponding class of weak Hopf algebras, i.e., the semilattice of graded weak Hopf algebras which were found to be useful in obtaining a regular R-matrix of a quantum double without a quasi-triangular structure. We define weak Hopf quivers and classify the semilattice of graded weak Hopf algebra structures over path coalgebras using weak Hopf quivers. This gives, precisely, a generalization of the classification of the graded weak Hopf algebra structures over path coalgebras using such quivers.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate weak Hopf algebras introduced in Li (J Algebra 208:72–100, 1998 ; Commun Math Phys 225:191–217, 2002 ) corresponding to quantum algebras U q ( f ( K , H )) (see Wang et al. in Commun Algebra 30:2191–2211, 2002 ). A new class of algebras is defined, which is denoted by 𝔴U^d_q. For d = ((1, 1) | (1, 1)), denote 𝔴U^d_q briefly by 𝔴_1U_q ; for d = ((0, 0) | (0, 0)), denote 𝔴U^d_q briefly by 𝔴_2U_q. In some cases, the necessary and sufficient conditions for 𝔴_1U_q and 𝔴_2U_q to be weak Hopf algebras are given. The PBW bases of 𝔴_1U_q and 𝔴_2U_q are presented. Finally, representations and the center of 𝔴_1U_q are characterized over ℂ with q ∈ℂ which is not a root of unity.

Abstract:Generalization of Hopf algebraslq (2) by weakening the invertibility of the generatorK, i.e., exchanging its invertibilityKK −1=1 to the regularity K$\bar K$K=K is studied. Two weak Hopf algebras are introduced: a weak Hopf algebrawslq (2) and aJ-weak Hopf algebravslq (2) which are investigated in detail. The monoids of group-like elements ofwslq (2) andvslq (2) are regular monoids, which supports the general conjucture on the connection betweek weak Hopf algebras and regular monoids. A quasi-braided weak Hopf algebraŪqw is constructed fromwslq (2). It is shown that the corresponding quasi-R-matrix is regular Rw $\hat R$ wRw=Rw.

Abstract:This article studies the construction of Hopf algebras $H$ acting on a given algebra $K$ in terms of algebra morphisms $ \sigma \colon K \rightarrow \mathrm{M}_n(K)$. The approach is particularly suited for controlling whether these actions restrict to a given subalgebra $B$ of $K$, whether $H$ is pointed, and whether these actions are compatible with a given $*$-structure on $K$. The theory is applied to the field $K=k(t)$ of rational functions containing the coordinate ring $B=k[t^2,t^3]$ of the cusp. An explicit example is described in detail and shown to define a quantum homogeneous space structure on the cusp, which, unlike the previously known one, extends from regular to rational functions.

Abstract:Let H be a Hopf algebra with a finite-dimensional, nontrivial space of skew primitive elements, over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We prove that H contains either the polynomial algebra as a Hopf subalgebra, or a certain Schurian simple pointed Hopf subalgebra. As a consequence, a complete list of the locally finite, simple pointed Hopf algebras is obtained. Also, the graded automorphism group of a Hopf algebra on a Schurian Hopf quiver is determined, and the relation between this group and the automorphism groups of the corresponding Hopf quiver, is clarified.

Abstract:This paper introduces the concepts of cylinder coalgebras and cylinder coproducts for quasitriangular bialgebras,and points out that there exists an anti-coaigebra isomorphism (H,■)■(H,■),where (H,■) is the cylinder coproduct,and (H,■) is the braided coproduct given by Kass.For any finite dimensional Hopf algebra H,the Drinfel'd double (D(H),■D(H)) is proved to be the cylinder coproduct.Let (H,H,R) be copaired Hopf algebras.If R∈Z(H■ H) with inverse R~(-1) and skew inverse ■,then the twisted coalgebra (H■)~(R~(-1)) is constructed via twice twists,whose comultiplication is exactly the cylinder coproduct.Moreover,for any generalized Long dimodule,some solutions for Yang-Baxter equations,four braid pairs and Long equations are constructed via cylinder twists.

Abstract:We introduce some modified forms for the degenerate and non-degenerate affine Hecke algebras of type A. These are certain subalgebras living inside the inverse limit of cyclotomic Hecke algebras. We construct faithful representations and standard bases for these algebras and give some explicit description of their centers. We show that there are algebra isomorphisms between some generalized Ore localizations of these modified affine Hecke algebras and of the quiver Hecke algebras of type A. As an application, we show that the center conjecture for the cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebra of type A holds if and only if the center conjecture for the cyclotomic Hecke algebra of type A holds.

Abstract:Let H be a finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebra. We show for each quotient quasibialgebra Q of H that Q is a quasi-Hopf algebra whose dimension divides the dimension of H. Quasi-Hopf algebras, introduced by V. Drinfeld, are a generalization of ordinary Hopf algebras that can be motivated most easily by looking at representation categories: The category of modules over a Hopf algebra is a monoidal category, with the module structure on the tensor product over the base field of two modules given by the diagonal action via comultiplication. One of the standard applications of the Nichols-Zoeller theorem is to investigate the structure of (semisimple) Hopf algebras by dimension counting: The dimension of a Hopf subalgebra has to divide the dimension of the large Hopf algebra, a version of the classical Lagrange theorem for finite groups. This can serve to narrow down the possible examples in classification attempts. The chapter shows that any quotient quasibialgebra of a finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebra is a quotient quasi-Hopf algebra itself.

Abstract:We construct a coherent Hopf 2-algebra as a quantization of coherent 2-group, which consists of two Hopf coquasigroups and a coassociator. We also study quasi coassociative Hopf coquasigroups, which are shown to be coherent Hopf 2-algebras with nontrivial coassociators. As an example, we study functions on a Cayley algebra basis.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct the weak version of peak quasisymmetric functions inside the Hopf algebra of weak composition quasisymmetric functions (WCQSym) defined by Guo, Thibon and Yu. Weak peak quasisymmetric functions (WPQSym) are studied in several aspects. First we find a natural basis of WPQSym lifting Stembridge's peak functions. Then we confirm that WPQSym is a Hopf subalgebra of WCQSym by giving explicit multiplication, comultiplication and antipode formulas. By extending Stembridge's descent-to-peak maps, we also show that WPQSym is a Hopf quotient algebra of WCQSym. On the other hand, we prove that WPQSym embeds as a Rota-Baxter subalgebra of WCQSym, thus of the free commutative Rota-Baxter algebra of weight 1 on one generator. Moreover, WPQSym can also be a Rota-Baxter quotient algebra of WCQSym.

Abstract:Abstract Let H be a Hopf algebra. The concept of symmetry of a quasitriangu-lar structure on H is introduced and some properties of a symmetric quasitriangular structure are characterized. We apply this to study quasitriangular structures on small quantum groups and abelian extensions. Abstract:For a semisimple quasi-triangular Hopf algebra [Formula: see text] over a field [Formula: see text] of characteristic zero, and a strongly separable quantum commutative [Formula: see text]-module algebra [Formula: see text], we show that [Formula: see text] is a weak Hopf algebra, and it can be embedded into a weak Hopf algebra [Formula: see text]. With these structures, [Formula: see text] is the monoidal category introduced by Cohen and Westreich, and [Formula: see text] is tensor equivalent to [Formula: see text]. If [Formula: see text] is in the Müger center of [Formula: see text], then the embedding is a quasi-triangular weak Hopf algebra morphism. This explains the presence of a subgroup inclusion in the characterization of irreducible Yetter–Drinfeld modules for a finite group algebra.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a finite dimensional semisimple cosemisimple quasitriangular Hopf algebra $(H,R\,)$ with $R^{\,21}R\in C(H\otimes H\,)$ (we call this type of Hopf algebras almost-quasitriangular) over an algebraically closed field $k$. We denote by $B$ the vector space generated by the left tensorand of $R^{\,21}R$. Then $B$ is a sub-Hopf algebra of $H$. We proved that when $\dim B$ is odd, $H$ has a triangular structure and can be obtained from a group algebra by twisting its usual comultiplication [14]; when $\dim B$ is even, $H$ is an extension of an abelian group algebra and a triangular Hopf algebra, and may not be triangular. In general, an almost-triangular Hopf algebra can be viewed as a cocycle bicrossproduct.

Abstract:In this paper we study the space $C(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ of complex invariant functions on $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, through a Hopf algebra viewpoint. First, we consider a variant notion of Zelevinsky's PSH algebra defined over the real numbers $\mathbb{R}$. In particular, we show that two specific $\mathbb{R}$-lattices inside the complex Hopf algebra $\bigoplus_nC(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ are real PSH algebras, and that they do not descend to $\mathbb{Z}$. Then, among consequences, we prove that every element in $C(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ is a linear combination of Harish-Chandra inductions of Kawanaka's pre-cuspidal functions, and give a conceptual characterisation of duality operation for $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, which in turn allows us to give a new proof of a classical result of Kawanaka.
