Abstract:We propose a new approximation scheme to obtain analytic expressions for the bound state energies and eigenfunctions of Yukawa like potentials. The predicted energies are in excellent agreement with the accurate numerical values reported in the literature.

Abstract:We report bound state solutions of the Klein Gordon equation with a novel combined potential, the Eckart plus a class of Yukawa potential, by means of the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov method. To deal the centrifugal and the coulombic behavior terms, we apply the Greene-Aldrich approximation scheme. We present any $\ell$-state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized wave functions of a mentioned system in a closed form. We discuss various special cases related to our considered potential which are utility for other physical systems and show that these are consistent with previous reports in literature. Moreover, we calculate the non-relativistic thermodynamic quantities (partition function, mean energy, free energy, specific heat and entropy) for the potential model in question, and investigate them for a few diatomic molecules. We find that the energy eigenvalues are sensitive with regard to the quantum numbers $n_r$ and $\ell$ as well as the parameter $\delta$. Our results show that energy eigenvalues are more bounded at either smaller quantum number $\ell$ or smaller parameter $\delta$.

Abstract:The radial part of the Klein-Gordon equation for the generalized Woods-Saxon potential is solved by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method in the case of spatially dependent mass within the new approximation scheme to the centrifugal potential term. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding normalized eigenfunctions are computed. The solutions in the case of constant mass are also studied to check out the consistency of our new approximation scheme.

Abstract:A new approximation formalism is applied to study the bound states of the Hellmann potential, which represents the superposition of the attractive Coulomb potential $-a/r$ and the Yukawa potential $b\exp (-\delta r)/r$ of arbitrary strength $b$ and screening parameter $\delta $. Although the analytic expressions for the energy eigenvalues $E_{n,l\text{}}$ yield quite accurate results for a wide range of $n,\ell $ in the limit of very weak screening, the results become gradually worse as the strength $b$ and the screening coefficient $\delta $ increase. This is because that the expansion parameter is not sufficiently small enough to guarantee the convergence of the expansion series for the energy levels.

Abstract:In this study, we have successfully obtained the analytical solutions for the Klein–Gordon equation with new proposed a non-central exponential potential . Our approach involves a proper approximation of the centrifugal term, with representing the generalized orbital angular momentum quantum number, and the utilization of the Nikiforov–Uvarov method. The resulting radial and angular wave functions are expressed in terms of Jacobi polynomials, and the corresponding energy equation is also derived. Our calculations of the eigenvalues for arbitrary quantum numbers demonstrated significant sensitivity to potential parameters and quantum numbers. Additionally, we evaluate the dependence of energy eigenvalues on screening parameter for arbitrary quantum numbers and to establish the accuracy of our findings. Furthermore, we determine the non-relativistic limits of the radial wave function and energy equation, which align with corresponding previous results in the case where .

Abstract:The harmonic oscillator and the Coulomb potential energy perturbed by rational functions are studied using the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin (WKB) approximation method. Using the proper quantization conditions, the bound state eigenvalue solutions to the Schrödinger equation were obtained in terms of the complete elliptic integrals of the first, second and third kinds. The results obtained numerically, are in excellent agreement compared to the results obtained via the shifted-1/N expansion and the generalized pseudo-spectral (GPS) methods. Also, the s-wave bound state energy eigenvalue solutions of the harmonic and Coulomb’s potentials are obtained as special cases. For the perturbed harmonic oscillator, we showed that the convergence of the WKB approximation by the asymptotic approximations of the energy-dependent elliptic functions led to improved results for constrained values of potential parameters.
A simple high-accuracy method for solving bound-state equations with the Cornell potential in momentum space

Abstract:We present a simple, high-accuracy method for solving bound-state integral equations in momentum space with singular kernels. For the case of the linear-confining potential, the associated Cauchy-principal-value singularity is removed by subtraction. Derivatives of the wave function that appear as a result of the subtraction technique are approximated by means of interpolating functions. The resulting non-singular integral equation is solved using the Nyström method. The results show excellent agreement with exactly known energy eigenvalues. By further increasing the number of integration points and the order of the Lagrange interpolation, results with extremely high accuracy can be achieved.

Abstract:The radial part of Klein-Gordon equation is solved for the Woods-Saxon potential within the framework of an approximation to the centrifugal barrier. The bound states and the corresponding normalized eigenfunctions of the Woods-Saxon potential are computed by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. The results are consistent with the ones obtained in the case of generalized Woods-Saxon potential. The solutions of the Schrödinger equation by using the same approximation are also studied as a special case, and obtained the consistent results with the ones obtained before.

The corresponding energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are determined for any quantum numbers n and l in the framework of the well-known Nikiforov-Uvarov method.

Abstract:In this analysis, we study the non-relativistic Schrodinger wave equation under the influence of quantum flux field with interactions potential in the background of a point-like global monopole (PGM). In fact, we consider an inverse quadratic Yukawa plus inverse square potential and derive the radial equation employing the Greene-Aldrich approximation scheme in the centrifugal term. We determine the approximate eigenvalue solution using the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov method and analyze the result. Afterwards, we derive the radial wave equation using the same potential employing a power series expansion method in the exponential potential and solve it analytically. We show that the energy eigenvalues are shifted by the topological defects of a point-like global monopole compared to the flat space result. In addition, we see that the energy eigenvalues depend on the quantum flux field that shows an analogue to the Aharonov-Bohm effect

Abstract:A new (algebraic) approximation scheme to find {\sl global} solutions of two point boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations (ODE's) is presented. The method is applicable for both linear and nonlinear (coupled) ODE's whose solutions are analytic near one of the boundary points. It is based on replacing the original ODE's by a sequence of auxiliary first order polynomial ODE's with constant coefficients. The coefficients in the auxiliary ODE's are uniquely determined from the local behaviour of the solution in the neighbourhood of one of the boundary points. To obtain the parameters of the global (connecting) solutions analytic at one of the boundary points, reduces to find the appropriate zeros of algebraic equations. The power of the method is illustrated by computing the approximate values of the ``connecting parameters'' for a number of nonlinear ODE's arising in various problems in field theory. We treat in particular the static and rotationally symmetric global vortex, the skyrmion, the Nielsen-Olesen vortex, as well as the 't Hooft-Polyakov magnetic monopole. The total energy of the skyrmion and of the monopole is also computed by the new method. We also consider some ODE's coming from the exact renormalization group. The ground state energy level of the anharmonic oscillator is also computed for arbitrary coupling strengths with good precision.

Abstract:The probability density of the Yukawa particle at the origin plays significant roles in fundamental physical quantities such as the darkonium production cross sections and matter-anti-matter annihilation rates. Inspired by the recent work of Napsuciale and Rodríguez (2021) [12], [13] where the authors proposed a complete analytical solution of the Yukawa problem at small screening parameters to analyze the bound state eigenenergies and probability densities at the origin, we perform in this work high-precision numerical calculation of these quantities by employing the generalized pseudospectral method. The variational method based on one-, two-, and three-parameter trial wave functions is also developed to provide an alternative analytical solution to the Yukawa problem. It is shown that these trial functions manifest simple implementation and high accuracy in the entire range of screening parameters.

Analytic Expression for Exact Ground State Energy Based on an Operator Method for a Class of Anharmonic Potentials

Abstract:A general procedure based on shift operators is formulated to deal with anharmonic potentials. It is possible to extract the ground-state energy analytically using our method provided certain consistency relations are satisfied. Analytic expressions for the exact-ground-state energy have also been derived specifically for a large class of the one-dimensional oscillator with cubic-quartic anharmonic terms. Our analytical results can be used to check the accuracy of existing numerical methods, for instance the method of state-dependent diagonalization. Our results also agree with the asymptotic behavior in the divergent pertubative expansion of the quartic harmonic oscillator.

Abstract:We propose an alternative method of calculating so-called optimized effective potentials (OEP's) by directly exploiting the property of the total energy E of an interacting N-electron system to attain a minimum for the true potential of the associated Kohn-Sham equations if E is expressed as a functional of the occupied Kohn-Sham orbitals that solve these equations. The method is based on forming the difference between the sought-for true potential and some local spin-density reference potential corrected to yield the known large r behavior of the OEP. This difference is expanded in terms of attenuated sinusoidal functions that decay exponentially beyond the range of orbital localization. By using this expansion E becomes a function of the expansion coefficients whose values are determined by searching for the minimum of E. This is achieved by employing a variant of a steepest descent method. Due to the flexibility of the method, the exchange-only virial relation can easily be incorporated by performing the minimization in a suitably modified way. The total energy results for a set of atoms (Be-Xe) differ only by about 10(-3) Ry from those obtained by other authors using different techniques. We have also successfully extended our method to the relativistic case. For the treatment of extended systems we propose a combination of our scheme with an existing approximate OEP method.

Abstract:The approximate bound state solutions of Schrödinger equation with linear combination of a four-parameter diatomic potential plus inversely quadratic Yukawa potential were obtained with the help of appropriate approximation to evaluate the centrifugal term. The Feynman path integral approach was used to obtain the analytical solutions. The energy spectrum and the normalized wave functions of the bound states are derived from the poles of the Green's function and its residues. Particular cases of these potentials are also discussed briey and it is found that obtained results are in good agreement with those obtained in the literature.

Abstract:We investigate the bound states of the Yukawa potential $V(r)=-\lambda \exp(-\alpha r)/ r$, using different algorithms: solving the Schrödinger equation numerically and our Monte Carlo Hamiltonian approach. There is a critical $\alpha=\alpha_C$, above which no bound state exists. We study the relation between $\alpha_C$ and $\lambda$ for various angular momentum quantum number $l$, and find in atomic units, $\alpha_{C}(l)= \lambda [A_{1} \exp(-l/ B_{1})+ A_{2} \exp(-l/ B_{2})]$, with $A_1=1.020(18)$, $B_1=0.443(14)$, $A_2=0.170(17)$, and $B_2=2.490(180)$.

Abstract:By considering the ultra generalized exponential hyperbolic potential, which covers many potential types, the solutions of the Dirac equation with spin/pseudo-spin symmetric limits are achieved. In both approaches, the relation giving the bound state energy eigenvalues is obtained in a closed form. By using these relations, the energy values are calculated numerically for both symmetry cases via the software program. In addition, it has been identified how the bound state energy eigenvalues depend on the parameters. Besides, the energy equations for the Schrödinger and Klein–Gordon particles in the limit states are derived.

Abstract:A new approximation scheme to the centrifugal term is proposed to obtain the $l\neq 0$ solutions of the Schrödinger equation with the Manning-Rosen potential. We also find the corresponding normalized wave functions in terms of the Jacobi polynomials. To show the accuracy of the new approximation scheme, we calculate the energy eigenvalues numerically for arbitrary quantum numbers $n$ and $l$ with two different values of the potential parameter $\alpha .$ The bound state energies of various states for a few $% HCl,$ $CH,$ $LiH$ and $CO$ diatomic molecules are also calculated. The numerical results are in good agreement with those obtained by using program based on a numerical integration procedure. Our solution can be also reduced to the s-wave ($l=0$) case and to the Hulthén potential case.

Abstract:An Ewald decomposition of the two-dimensional Yukawa potential and its derivative is presented for both the periodic and the free-space case. These modified Bessel functions of the second kind of zeroth and first degrees are used e.g. when solving the modified Helmholtz equation using a boundary integral method. The spectral Ewald method is used to compute arising sums at O(N log N) cost for N source and target points. To facilitate parameter selection, truncation-error estimates are developed for both the real-space sum and the Fourier-space sum, and are shown to estimate the errors well.

Abstract:We investigate the approximate bound-state solutions of the N-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a combination of Eckart and Hellmann potentials via the asymptotic iteration approach. By the use of the Greene-Aldrich approximation, which is valid for small values of the screening parameter, we establish the N-dimensional energy spectrum and the N-dimensional radial wave function in approximate analytic form. In hyperspherical coordinates, the normalized radial wave function is expressed in terms of hypergeometric and Jacobi polynomials. To double-check the energy spectrum in hyperspherical coordinates, we utilize polynomial solutions in view of the asymptotic iteration approach. The expressions for the expectation values of inverse position, square of inverse position, kinetic energy, and square of momentum are derived in hyperspherical coordinates by using the Hellmann-Feynmann theorem. We also present the analytically calculated energy eigenvalues for Eckart plus Hellmann potential. We deduce special forms of the relevant potential, such as Eckart, Hellmann, and Hulthén potentials.
