Abstract:A simple quark-diquark model of baryons with direct and exchange interactions is constructed. Spectrum and form factors are calculated and compared with experimental data. Advantages and disadvantages of the model are discussed.

Abstract:The paper defends the notion that semantic tagging should be viewed as more than disambiguation between senses. Instead, semantic tagging should be a first step in the interpretation process by assigning each lexical item a representation of all of its systematically related senses, from which further semantic processing steps can derive discourse dependent interpretations. This leads to a new type of semantic lexicon (CoreLex) that supports underspecified semantic tagging through a design based on systematic polysemous classes and a class-based acquisition of lexical knowledge for specific domains.

Abstract:The diquark structure in baryons is commonly accepted as a reasonable approximation which can much simplify the picture of baryons and reduce the length of calculations. However, a diquark by no means is a point-like particle, even though it is treated as a whole object. Therefore, to apply the diquark picture to phenomenological calculations, at the effective vertices for the diquark-gauge-boson interactions, suitable form factors must be introduced to compensate the effects caused by the inner structure of the diquark. It is crucial to derive the appropriate form factors for various interactions. In this work, we use the Bethe-Salpeter equation to derive such form factors and numerically evaluate their magnitudes. Our results not only qualitatively, but also quantitatively confirm the form factors phenomenologically introduced in literature.

Abstract:We analyze some aspects of the perturbative and nonperturbative interactions in the composition of heavy quarkonia, heavy and light baryons ( ccc and uuu ones), as well as all charm tetraquarks ( ccc ̄c ̄ ). Using the hyperspherical approximation and effective radial potentials (in six and nine dimensions, respectively) we derive their spectra and wave functions. In all of the cases, we focus on the splittings between the S -shell levels, which are remarkably insensitive to the quark masses, but proportional to the effective interaction potentials. We use the traditional Cornell-like potentials, and the nonperturbative instanton-induced static potentials, from correlators of two, three, and four Wilson lines, and find rather satisfactory description of spectra in all cases. https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.109.014022 Published by the American Physical Society under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Abstract:In this work, we employ the Bethe-Salpeter （B-S） equation to investigate the spectra of free diquarks and their B-S wave functions. We find that the B-S approach can be consistently applied to study the diqaurks with two heavy quarks or one heavy and one light quarks, but for two light-quark systems, the results are not reliable. There are a few free parameters in the whole scenario which can only be fixed phenomenologically. Thus, to determine them, one has to study baryons which are composed of quarks and diquarks.

We address some of the outstanding problems in baryon spectroscopy, as for example the spin splitting evolution for te different flavor sectors, the flavor independence of confinement and the missing state problem.

Short-range baryon-baryon potentials in constituent quark model revisited

Abstract:We revisit the short-range baryon-baryon potentials in the flavor SU(3) sector, using the constituent quark model. We employ the color Coulomb, linear confining, and color magnetic forces between two constituent quarks, and solve the three-quark Schrödinger equation using the Gaussian expansion method to evaluate the wave functions of the octet $( N , \Lambda , \Sigma , \Xi )$ and decuplet $( \Delta , \Sigma ^{\ast} , \Xi ^{\ast} , \Omega )$ baryons. We then solve the six-quark equation using the resonating group method and systematically calculate equivalent local potentials for the $S$-wave two-baryon systems which reproduce the relative wave functions of two baryons in the resonating group method. As a result, we find that the flavor antidecuplet states with total spin $J = 3$, namely, $\Delta \Delta$, $\Delta \Sigma ^{\ast}$, $\Delta \Xi ^{\ast}$-$\Sigma ^{\ast} \Sigma ^{\ast}$, and $\Delta \Omega$-$\Sigma ^{\ast} \Xi ^{\ast}$ systems, have attractive potentials sufficient to generate dibaryon bound states as hadronic molecules. In addition, the $N \Omega$ system with $J = 2$ in coupled channels has a strong attraction and forms a bound state. We also make a comparison with the baryon-baryon potentials from lattice QCD simulations and try to understand the behavior of the potentials from lattice QCD simulations.

Abstract:Masses of heavy mesons, tetraquarks and pentaquarks computed in a potential model are shown. Tetraquarks are studied as bound states of a diquark and an antidiquark. Pentaquarks are constructed from a series of two-body interactions between the four quarks and the antiquark. New results on $Qs\bar Q \bar q$ and $QQ\bar Q \bar Q$ tetraquarks are also obtained.

A study on baryons spectroscopy using digamma-function as interacting potential

Abstract:In the present work, the interacting potential form between quarks inside a baryon is taken to be proportional to the digamma-function. Using the Jacobi-coordinates the three body wave equation is solved to calculate the different states of the considered baryons. The present model contains only two adjustable parameters in addition to the quark masses. Our theoretical calculations are compared to the available experimental data and Cornelll potential calculations. The present potential model calculations show a satisfied agreement in case of investigated the resonance masses of the considered baryons. One can conclude that; the interaction between the quark constituents of baryon systems could be described adequately by using the considered simple potential form.

Abstract:Abstract Using a relativized diquark model Hamiltonian, we calculate the masses of $$J^{PC}=0^{++}$$ J PC = 0 + + ground-state tetraquarks in the following systems: $$b s {\bar{b}} {\bar{s}}$$ b s b ¯ s ¯ , $$bb {\bar{n}} {\bar{n}}$$ b b n ¯ n ¯ ( $$n=u, d$$ n = u , d ), $$bb {\bar{s}} {\bar{s}}$$ b b s ¯ s ¯ , $$cc{\bar{c}} {\bar{c}}$$ c c c ¯ c ¯ , $$b b {\bar{b}} {\bar{b}}$$ b b b ¯ b ¯ , $$b c{\bar{b}} {\bar{c}}$$ b c b ¯ c ¯ and $$b b {\bar{c}} {\bar{c}}$$ b b c ¯ c ¯ . We also compute extensive spectra for the fully-heavy quark flavour combinations. Finally, as a test of the diquark model approach, we compute the masses of fully-heavy baryons in the diquark model. Our results may be compared soon to the forthcoming experimental data for fully-heavy three-quark systems.

Abstract:The baryon-baryon interactions for the complete baryon octet (B_8) are investigated in a unified framework of the resonating-group method, in which the spin-flavor SU_6 quark-model wave functions are employed. Model parameters are determined to reproduce properties of the nucleon-nucleon system and the low-energy cross section data for the hyperon-nucleon interaction. We then proceed to explore B_8 B_8 interactions in the strangeness S=-2, -3 and -4 sectors. The S-wave phase-shift behavior and total cross sections are systematically understood by 1) the spin-flavor SU_6 symmetry, 2) the special role of the pion exchange, and 3) the flavor symmetry breaking.

Abstract:Spectrum of the low-lying hidden- and double-charm tetraquark states are investigated in a nonrelativistic quark potential model, where the instanton-induced interaction is taken as the residual spin-dependent hyperfine interaction between quarks. The model parameters are fixed by fitting the spectrum of the ground hadron states. Our numerical results show that masses of several presently studied tetraquark states are close to those of the experimentally observed candidates of exotic meson, which indicates that the corresponding compact tetraquark components may take considerable probabilities in those observed exotic states.

Abstract:Motivated by diquark exchange, we construct a class of extensions of the standard model. These models can generate large CP conserving and CP violating contributions to the doubly Cabbibo suppressed decays D^0\to K^+\pi^- without affecting D^0-\overline{D^0} mixing, contrary to what is usually believed in the literature. We find an interesting specific realization of these models, which has the LR chiral structure and can induce novel density \times density operators. It is new for non-leptonic kaon decays, and particularly, may provide a possible solution to the \Delta I=1/2 rule and direct CP violation, without inducing large flavour changing neutral currents.

A Simple Model of Pentaquarks

Abstract:We describe pentaquarks as baryo-charmonia with a color octet $c\bar{c}$ core bonded to a color octet three-quark system. Fermi statistics of the light quark cloud allows to describe two pentaquark triplets: a lower one, well supported by experiment, and a higher one with strangeness. For the time being, the lowest line of the strange triplet has been experimentally identified in a $3\sigma$ peak. Data also suggest (at least) two different production mechanisms for pentaquarks. We show how this can be described in the proposed scheme.

Abstract:Chiral effective theory of scalar and vector diquarks is formulated according to the linear sigma model. The main application is to describe the ground and excited states of singly heavy baryons with a charm or bottom quark. Applying the potential quark model between the diquark and the heavy quark (Q=c, b), we construct a heavy-quark–diquark model. The spectra of the positive- and negative-parity states of ΛQ, ΣQ, ΞQ(′), and ΩQ are obtained. The masses and interaction parameters of the effective theory are fixed partly from the lattice QCD data and also from fitting low-lying heavy-baryon masses. We find that the negative parity excited states of ΞQ (flavor 3¯) are different from those of ΛQ, because of the inverse hierarchy of the pseudoscalar diquark. On the other hand, ΣQ, ΞQ′, and ΩQ (flavor 6) baryons have similar spectra. We compare our results of the heavy-quark–diquark model with experimental data as well as the quark model.

Abstract:This paper provides results for the spectra of triply charmed and bottom baryons based on a constituent quark model approach. We take advantage of the assumption that potential models are expected to describe triply heavy baryons to a similar degree of accuracy as the successful results obtained in the charmonium and bottomonium sectors. The high precision calculation of the ground state and positive and negative parity excited states recently reported by nonperturbative lattice QCD provides us with a unique opportunity to confront model predictions with data. This comparison may also help to build a bridge between two difficult to reconcile lattice QCD results, namely, the lattice SU(3) QCD static three-quark potential and the recent results of nonperturbative lattice QCD for the triply heavy-baryon spectra.

Abstract:Parity doublet model is an effective chiral model that includes the chiral-variant and -invariant masses of baryons. The chiral-invariant mass has large impacts on the density dependence of models which can be constrained by neutron star observations. In the previous work, models of two flavors have been considered up to a few times nuclear saturation density, but in such dense regions it is also necessary to consider hyperons. With the chiral-invariant masses baryons can stay massive in extreme environments (e.g., neutron stars) where the chiral symmetry restoration takes place. In this work, we generalize the previous SU(2)L×SU(2)R parity models of nucleons to SU(3)L×SU(3)R models of the baryon octet within the linear realization of the chiral symmetry. The major problem in constructing such models has been too many candidates for the chiral representations of baryons. Motivated by the concepts of diquarks and the mended symmetry, we choose the (3L,3 ̄R)+(3 ̄L,3R) , (3L,6R)+(6L,3R) , and (1L,8R)+(8L,1R) representations and use quark diagrams to constrain the possible types of Yukawa interactions. The masses of the baryon octets for positive and negative baryons up to the first excitations are successfully reproduced. As expected from the diquark considerations, the ground-state baryons are well dominated by (3L,3 ̄R)+(3 ̄L,3R) and (1L,8R)+(8L,1R) representations, while the excited states require (3L,6R)+(6L,3R) representations. Important applications of our model are the chiral restoration for strange quarks at large density and the continuity of diquarks from hadronic to quark matter.
