Abstract: A quantum deformation of the adjoint action of the special linear group on the variety of nilpotent matrices is introduced. New non-embedded quantum homogeneous spaces are obtained related to certain maximal coadjoint orbits, and known quantum homogeneous spaces are revisited.

Abstract:On a one-dimensional lattice without uniform interval, the Hermitian conjugation of a q-differential operator is discussed. Then a deformation of quantum mechanics in one dimension is presented. As an application, the harmonic oscillator is discussed. The energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions are shown to depend on an arbitrary deformation function. The deformed coherent states are also discussed. It is found that the completeness relation of coherent states holds for the case of q-coherent states, i.e. the deformation of the Heisenberg-Weyl algebra is a q-analogue Hopf algebra.

Abstract:A quantum homogeneous space of a Hopf algebra is a right coideal subalgebra over which the Hopf algebra is faithfully flat. It is shown that the Auslander–Gorenstein property of a Hopf algebra is inherited by its quantum homogeneous spaces. If the quantum homogeneous space B of a pointed Hopf algebra H is AS-Gorenstein of dimension d, then B has a rigid dualizing complex Bν[d]. The Nakayama automorphism ν is given by ν=ad(g)∘S2∘Ξ[τ], where ad(g) is the inner automorphism associated to some group-like element g∈H and Ξ[τ] is the algebra map determined by the left integral of B. The quantum homogeneous spaces of Uq(sl2) are classified and all of them are proved to be Auslander-regular, AS-regular and Cohen–Macaulay.

Abstract:It is shown that certain embeddable homogeneous spaces of a quantum group that do not correspond to a quantum subgroup still have the structure of quantum quotient spaces. A construction of quantum fibre bundles on such spaces is proposed. The quantum plane and the general quantum two-spheres are discussed in detail.

Abstract:Considering homogeneous four-dimensional space-time geometries within real projective geometry provides a mathematically well-defined framework to discuss their deformations and limits without the appearance of coordinate singularities. On Lie algebra level the related conjugacy limits act isomorphically to concatenations of contractions. We axiomatically introduce projective quantum fields on homogeneous space-time geometries, based on correspondingly generalized unitary transformation behavior and projectivization of the field operators. Projective correlators and their expectation values remain well-defined in all geometry limits, which includes their ultraviolet and infrared limits. They can degenerate with support on space-time boundaries and other lower-dimensional space-time subspaces. We explore fermionic and bosonic superselection sectors as well as the irreducibility of projective quantum fields. Dirac fermions appear, which obey spin-statistics as composite quantum fields. The framework systematically formalizes and generalizes the ambient space techniques regularly employed in conformal field theory.

Abstract:We present two different quantum deformations for the (anti)de Sitter algebras and groups. The former is a non-standard (triangular) deformation of SO(4,2) realized as the conformal group of the (3+1)D Minkowskian spacetime, while the latter is a standard (quasitriangular) deformation of both SO(2,2) and SO(3,1) expressed as the kinematical groups of the (2+1)D anti-de Sitter and de Sitter spacetimes, respectively. The Hopf structure of the quantum algebra and a study of the dual quantum group are presented for each deformation. These results enable us to propose new non-commutative spacetimes that can be interpreted as generalizations of the kappa-Minkowski space, either by considering a variable deformation parameter (depending on the boost coordinates) in the conformal deformation, or by introducing an explicit curvature/cosmological constant in the kinematical one; kappa-Minkowski turns out to be the common first-order structure for all of these quantum spaces. Some properties provided by these deformations, such as dimensions of the deformation parameter (related with the Planck length), space isotropy, deformed boost transformations, etc., are also commented.

Abstract:The coadjoint orbits for the seriesBl,Cl, andDlare considered in the case when the base point is a multiple of a fundamental weight. A quantization of the big cell is suggested by means of introducing a ∗-algebra generated by holomorphic coordinate functions. Starting from this algebraic structure the irreducible representations of the deformed universal enveloping algebra are derived as acting in the vector space of polynomials in quantum coordinate functions.

Abstract:Consider the compact quantum group $U_q(2)$, where $q$ is a non-zero complex deformation parameter such that $|q|\neq 1$. Let $C(U_q(2))$ denote the underlying $C^*$-algebra of the compact quantum group $U_q(2)$. We prove that if $q$ is a non-real complex number and $q^\prime$ is real, then the underlying $C^*$-algebras $C(U_q(2))$ and $C(U_{q^\prime}(2))$ are non-isomorphic. This is in sharp contrast with the case of braided $SU_q(2)$, introduced earlier by Woronowicz et al., where $q$ is a non-zero complex deformation parameter. In another direction, on a geometric aspect of $U_q(2)$, we introduce torus action on the $C^*$-algebra $C(U_q(2))$ and obtain a $C^*$-dynamical system $(C(U_q(2)),\mathbb{T}^3,\alpha)$. We construct a $\mathbb{T}^3$-equivariant spectral triple for $U_q(2)$ that is even and $3^+$-summable. It is shown that the Dirac operator is K-homologically nontrivial.

Abstract:Let $\MC$ be the moduli space of stable holomorphic vector bundles of rank 2 and fixed determinant of odd degree, over a smooth projective curve $C$. This paper identifies the algebraic cohomology ring $\HA^*(\MC)$, i.e. the subring of the rational cohomology ring $H^*(\MC;\QQ)$ spanned by the fundamental classes of algebraic cycles, in terms of the algebraic cohomology ring of the Jacobian $\JC$.

Abstract:We study two classes of quantum spheres and hyperboloids, one class consisting of homogeneous spaces, which are -quantum spaces for the quantum orthogonal group . We construct line bundles over the quantum homogeneous space associated with the quantum subgroup SO (2) of . The line bundles are associated to the quantum principal bundle via representations of SO (2) and are described dually by finitely-generated projective modules of rank 1 and of degree computed to be an even integer . The corresponding idempotents, that represent classes in the K-theory of the base space, are explicitly worked out and are paired with two suitable Fredhom modules that compute the rank and the degree of the bundles. For q real, we show how to diagonalise the action (on the base space algebra) of the Casimir operator of the Hopf algebra which is dual to .

Abstract:Precipitating a notion emerging from recent research, we formalise the study of a special class of compact quantum metric spaces. Abstractly, the additional requirement we impose on the underlying order unit spaces is the Riesz interpolation property. In practice, this means that a `quantum metric Choquet simplex' arises as a unital $\mathrm{C}^*$-algebra $A$ whose trace space is equipped with a metric inducing the $w^*$-topology, such that tracially Lipschitz elements are dense in $A$. This added structure is designed for measuring distances in and around the category of stably finite classifiable $\mathrm{C}^*$-algebras, and in particular for witnessing metric and statistical properties of the space of (approximate unitary equivalence classes of) unital embeddings of $A$ into a stably finite classifiable $\mathrm{C}^*$-algebra $B$. Our reference frame for this measurement is a certain compact `nucleus' of $A$ provided by its quantum metric structure. As for the richness of the metric space of isometric isomorphism classes of classifiable $\mathrm{C}^*$-algebraic quantum metric Choquet simplices (equipped with Rieffel's quantum Gromov--Hausdorff distance), we show how to construct examples starting from Bauer simplices associated to compact metric spaces. We also explain how to build non-Bauer examples by forming `quantum crossed products' associated to dynamical systems on the tracial boundary. Further, we observe that continuous fields of quantum spaces are obtained by continuously varying either the dynamics or the metric. In the case of deformed isometric actions, we show that equivariant Gromov--Hausdorff continuity implies fibrewise continuity of the quantum structures. As an example, we present a field of deformed quantum rotation algebras whose fibres are continuous with respect to a quasimetric called the quantum intertwining gap.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of quantum $N$-toroidal algebras as natural generalization of the quantum toroidal algebras as well as extended quantized GIM algebras of $N$-fold affinization. We show that the quantum $N$-toroidal algebras are quotients of the extended quantized GIM algebras of $N$-fold affinization, which generalizes a well-known result of Berman and Moody for Lie algebras.

Abstract:We construct a large collection of "quantum projective spaces", in the form of Koszul, Calabi-Yau algebras with the Hilbert series of a polynomial ring. We do so by starting with the toric ones (the q-symmetric algebras), and then deforming their relations using a diagrammatic calculus, proving unobstructedness of such deformations under suitable nondegeneracy conditions. We then prove that these algebras are identified with the canonical quantizations of corresponding families of quadratic Poisson structures, in the sense of Kontsevich. In this way, we obtain the first broad class of quadratic Poisson structures for which his quantization can be computed explicitly, and shown to converge, as he conjectured in 2001.

Topological invariance of quantum homogeneous spaces of type $B$ and $D$

Abstract:In this article, we study two families of quantum homogeneous spaces, namely, $SO_q(2n+1)/SO_q(2n-1)$, and $SO_q(2n)/SO_q(2n-2)$. By applying a two-step Zhelobenko branching rule, we show that the $C^*$-algebras $C(SO_q(2n+1)/SO_q(2n-1))$, and $C(SO_q(2n)/SO_q(2n-2))$ are generated by the entries of the first and the last rows of the fundamental matrix of the quantum groups $SO_q(2n+1)$, and $SO_q(2n)$, respectively. We then construct a chain of short exact sequences, and using that, we compute $K$-groups of these spaces with explicit generators. Invoking homogeneous $C^*$-extension theory, we show $q$-independence of some intermediate $C^*$-algebras arising as the middle $C^*$-algebra of these short exact sequences. As a consequence, we get the $q$-invariance of $SO_q(5)/SO_q(3)$ and $SO_q(6)/SO_q(4)$.

Abstract:As a natural generalization of ordinary Lie algebras we introduce the concept of quantum Lie algebras . We define these in terms of certain adjoint submodules of quantized enveloping algebras endowed with a quantum Lie bracket given by the quantum adjoint action. The structure constants of these algebras depend on the quantum deformation parameter q and they go over into the usual Lie algebras when q = 1. The notions of q-conjugation and q-linearity are introduced. q-linear analogues of the classical antipode and Cartan involution are defined and a generalized Killing form, q-linear in the first entry and linear in the second, is obtained. These structures allow the derivation of symmetries between the structure constants of quantum Lie algebras. The explicitly worked out examples of and illustrate the results.

Abstract:The automorphism group of a quantised coordinate algebra is usually much smaller than that of its classical counterpart. Nevertheless, these automorphism groups are often very difficult to calculate. In this paper, we calculate the automorphism group of the quantum grassmannian in the case that the deformation parameter is not a root of unity. The main tool employed is the dehomogenisation equality which shows that a localisation of the quantum grassmannian is equal to a skew Laurent extension of quantum matrices. This equality is used to connect the automorphism group of the quantum grassmannian with that of quantum matrices, where the automorphism group is known.
