Abstract:The Weyl geometry promises potential applications in gravity and quantum mechanics. We study the relationships between the Weyl geometry, quantum entropy and quantum entanglement based on the Weyl geometry endowing the Euclidean metric. We give the formulation of the Weyl Ricci curvature and Weyl scalar curvature in the $n$-dimensional system. The Weyl scalar field plays a bridge role to connect the Weyl scalar curvature, quantum potential and quantum entanglement. We also give the Einstein-Weyl tensor and the generalized field equation in 3D vacuum case, which reveals the relationship between Weyl geometry and quantum potential. Particularly, we find that the correspondence between the Weyl scalar curvature and quantum potential is dimension-dependent and works only for the 3D space, which reveals a clue to quantize gravity and a understanding why our space must be 3D if quantum gravity is compatible with quantum mechanics. We analyze numerically a typical example of two orthogonal oscillators to reveal the relationships between the Weyl scalar curvature, quantum potential and quantum entanglement based on this formulation. We find that the Weyl scalar curvature shows a negative dip peak for separate state but becomes a positive peak for the entangled state near original point region, which can be regarded as a geometric signal to detect quantum entanglement.

Abstract:Fisher information is a cornerstone of both statistical inference and physical theory, leading to debate about whether its latter role is active or passive. Motivated by connections between Fisher information, entropy, and the quantum potential in the de Broglie–Bohm causal interpretation of quantum mechanics, the purpose of this article is to derive the position probability density when there a is a close and ubiquitous bonding of Fisher information and quantum potential. This is done by exploring a case in which a particle moves in a straight line and the integrands in Fisher information and expected quantum potential are proportional. It is found that in this case the probability density given by the Schrödinger wave equation has a Laplace distribution and that quantum potential is a negative constant at all points and times. It is noted that the rate of change of the entropy of the particle is bounded above by a limit that is proportional to the square roots of both Fisher information and the absolute value of quantum potential. Unlike Fisher information, quantum potential is a measure of a real physical potential, and it is proposed that it is quantum potential that puts an upper bound on the rate of change of the particle's entropy and that, being negative in this case, may also act to contain the particle on its straight-line path. It is suggested that Fisher information does not have an active role in the physics, at least in this case, and only provides information about entropy.

Abstract:A model for the interpretation of spacetime as a Weyl geometry is proposed, based on the hypothesis that a system moves on any given path with a probability which is inversely proportional to the resulting change in length of the system. The results of physical measurements are calculated as the product of Weyl-conjugate gauge-dependent probabilities for the detection of conjugate objects. Each probability, expressed as a Wiener integral, is the Green's function for a diffusion equation. If the line integral of the Weyl field equals the action functional divided by ℏ this equation provides the stochastic equivalent of the Schrödinger equation, with expanding and contracting states replacing the oscillating states of standard quantum theory. These dilatations are not directly measurable within the theory, but the rates of expansion and contraction are. We establish the classical limit of the theory by proving that the most general form of the Weyl field which gives an extremum of the action is restricted to be of a special form. Particles obeying the equations of motion for these extremal Weyl fields experience no measurable dilatation. However, the Weyl field itself is classically detectable, and gives a correct description of the electromagnetic interaction of a point particle.

Abstract:We sketch and emphasize the automatic emergence of a quantum potential Q in e.g. classical WDW type equations upon inserting a (Bohmian) complex wave function. The interpretation of Q in terms of momentum fluctuations via Fisher information and entropy ideas is discussed along with the essentially forced role of the amplitude squared as a probability density. We also review the constructions of Padmanabhan connecting entropy and the Einstein equations.

Abstract:Motivated by the corrected form of the entropy-area law, and with the help of von Neumann entropy of quantum matter, we construct an emergent spacetime by the virtue of the geometric language of statistical information manifolds. We discuss the link between Wald and Jacobson approaches of thermodynamic/gravity correspondence and Fisher pseudo-Riemannian metric of information manifold. We derive in detail Einstein's field equations in statistical information geometric forms. This results in finding a quantum origin of a positive cosmological constant that is founded on Fisher metric. This cosmological constant resembles those found in Lovelock's theories in a de Sitter background as a result of using the complex extension of spacetime and the Gaussian exponential families of probability distributions, and we find a time varying dynamical gravitational constant as a function of Fisher metric together with the corresponding Ryu-Takayanagi formula of such system. Consequently, we obtain a dynamical equation for the entropy in information manifold using Liouville-von Neumann equation from the Hamiltonian of the system. This Hamiltonian is suggested to be non-Hermitian, which corroborates the approaches that relate non-unitary conformal field theories to information manifolds. This provides some insights on resolving "the problem of time".

Abstract:The Fisher information metric or the Fisher-Rao metric corresponds to a natural Riemannian metric defined on a parameterized family of probability density functions. As in the case of Riemannian geometry, we can define a distance in terms of the Fisher information metric, called the Fisher-Rao distance. The Fisher information metric has a wide range of applications in estimation and information theories. Indeed, it provides the most informative Cramer-Rao bound for an unbiased estimator. The Goldberg conjecture is a well-known unsolved problem which states that any compact Einstein almost Kähler manifold is necessarily a Kähler-Einstein. Note that, there is also a known odd-dimensional analog of the Goldberg conjecture in the literature. The main objective of this paper is to establish a new characterization of coKähler manifolds and Kähler manifolds; our characterization is statistical in nature. Finally, we corroborate that every, Kähler and co-Kähler manifolds, can be viewed as being a parametric family of probability density functions, whereas Kähler and coKähler metrics can be regarded as Fisher information metrics. In particular, we prove that, when the Kähler metric is real analytic, it is always locally the Fisher information of an exponential family. We also tackle the link between Kähler potential and Kullback-Leibler divergence.

Abstract:We investigate the performance of quantum Fisher information (QFI) under the Unruh-Hawking effect, where one of the observers (e.g., Rob) is uniformly accelerated with respect to other partners. In the context of relativistic quantum information theory, we demonstrate that quantum Fisher information, as an important measure of the information content of quantum states, has a rich and subtle physical structure compared with entanglement or Bell nonlocality. In this work, we mainly focus on the parametrized (and arbitrary) pure two-qubit states, where the weight parameter theta and phase parameter phi are naturally introduced. Intriguingly, we prove that QFI with respect to theta (F-theta) remains unchanged for both scalar and Dirac fields. Meanwhile, we observe that QFI with respect to phi (F-phi) decreases with the increase of acceleration r but remains finite in the limit of infinite acceleration. More importantly, our results show that the symmetry of F-phi (with respect to. theta = pi/4) has been broken by the influence of the Unruh effect for both cases.

Abstract:This work presents an explicit description of the Fisher-Rao Riemannian metric on the Hilbert manifold of equivalent centered Gaussian measures on an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space. We show that the corresponding quantities from the finite-dimensional setting of Gaussian densities on Euclidean space, including the Riemannian metric, Levi-Civita connection, curvature, geodesic curve, and Riemannian distance, when properly formulated, directly generalize to this setting. Furthermore, we discuss the connection with the Riemannian geometry of positive definite unitized Hilbert-Schmidt operators on Hilbert space, which can be viewed as a regularized version of the current setting.

Abstract:Considering homogeneous four-dimensional space-time geometries within real projective geometry provides a mathematically well-defined framework to discuss their deformations and limits without the appearance of coordinate singularities. On Lie algebra level the related conjugacy limits act isomorphically to concatenations of contractions. We axiomatically introduce projective quantum fields on homogeneous space-time geometries, based on correspondingly generalized unitary transformation behavior and projectivization of the field operators. Projective correlators and their expectation values remain well-defined in all geometry limits, which includes their ultraviolet and infrared limits. They can degenerate with support on space-time boundaries and other lower-dimensional space-time subspaces. We explore fermionic and bosonic superselection sectors as well as the irreducibility of projective quantum fields. Dirac fermions appear, which obey spin-statistics as composite quantum fields. The framework systematically formalizes and generalizes the ambient space techniques regularly employed in conformal field theory.

A Fisher Information Perspective of Relativistic Quantum Mechanics

Abstract:In previous papers we have shown how Schrodinger's equation which includes an electromagnetic field interaction can be deduced from a fluid dynamical Lagrangian of a charged potential flow that interacts with an electromagnetic field. The quantum behaviour was derived from Fisher information terms which were added to the classical Lagrangian. It was thus shown that a quantum mechanical system is drived by information and not only electromagnetic fields. This program was applied also to Pauli's equations by removing the restriction of potential flow and using the Clebsch formalism. Although the analysis was quite successful there were still terms that did not admit interpretation, some of them can be easily traced to the relativistic Dirac theory. Here we repeat the analysis for a relativistic flow, pointing to a new approach for deriving relativistic quantum mechanics.

Abstract:We construct Carrollian scalar field theories in general dimensions, mainly focusing on the boundaries of Minkowski and Rindler spacetime, whose quantum flux operators form a faithful representation of Carrollian diffeomorphism up to a central charge, respectively. At future/past null infinity, the fluxes are physically observable and encode rich information of the radiation. The central charge may be regularized to be finite by the spectral zeta function or heat kernel method on the unit sphere. For the theory at the Rindler horizon, the effective central charge is proportional to the area of the bifurcation surface after regularization. Moreover, the zero mode of supertranslation is identified as the modular Hamiltonian, linking Carrollian diffeomorphism to quantum information theory. Our results may hold for general null hypersurfaces and provide new insight in the study of the Carrollian field theory, asymptotic symmetry group and entanglement entropy.

Quantum Information in Riemannian Spaces

Abstract:We develop a diffeomorphism-invariant formulation of differential entropy in Riemannian spaces, addressing the lack of an observer-independent notion of information for continuous variables in physical space. We extend this formulation to the quantum level by generalizing Wigner's quasiprobability density function to arbitrary Riemannian spaces and analytically continuing Shannon's differential entropy formula to incorporate contributions from intermediate virtual quantum states. We demonstrate this framework with the computation of the quantum phase space entropy of the harmonic oscillator in Minkowski and anti-de Sitter geometries. Additionally, we derive a generalized quantum entropic uncertainty relation, extending the Bialynicki-Birula and Mycielski inequality to curved spaces. Our work bridges concepts from information theory, geometry, and quantum physics to establish a foundation for studying quantum information in continuous and curved spaces.

Quantum Curvature as Key to the Quantum Universe

Abstract:Curvature is a key notion in General Relativity, characterizing the local physical properties of spacetime. By contrast, the concept of curvature has received scant attention in nonperturbative quantum gravity. One may even wonder whether in a Planckian regime meaningful notions of (quantum) curvature exist at all. Remarkably, recent work in quantum gravity using Causal Dynamical Triangulations (CDT) has demonstrated both the existence and usefulness of a new notion of quantum Ricci curvature (QRC), which relies neither on smooth structures nor on tensor calculus. This overview article recalls some classical notions related to curvature and parallel transport, as well as previous unsuccessful attempts to construct quantum curvature observables based on deficit angles and Wilson loops. It introduces the quasi-local QRC on piecewise flat triangulations, and describes its behaviour in a purely classical setting, its use in quantum observables, and currently known results in (C)DT quantum gravity in two and four dimensions. The QRC opens the door to a range of interesting physical observables that were previously out of reach, and will help to bridge the gap between the nonperturbative quantum theory and gravitational phenomena at lower energies.

Projective and Carrollian geometry at time/space-like infinity on projectively compact Ricci flat Einstein manifolds

Abstract:In this article we discuss how to construct canonical \emph{strong} Carrollian geometries at time/space like infinity of projectively compact Ricci flat Einstein manifolds $(M,g)$ and discuss the links between the underlying projective structure of the metric $g$. The obtained Carrollian geometries are determined by the data of the projective compactification. The key idea to achieve this is to consider a new type of Cartan geometry based on a non-effective homogeneous model for projective geometry. We prove that this structure is a general feature of projectively compact Ricci flat Einstein manifolds.

From Classical to Quantum Information Geometry: A Guide for Physicists

Abstract:Recently, there has been considerable interest in the application of information geometry to quantum many body physics. This interest has been driven by three separate lines of research, which can all be understood as different facets of quantum information geometry. First, the study of topological phases of matter characterized by Chern number is rooted in the symplectic structure of the quantum state space, known in the physics literature as Berry curvature. Second, in the study of quantum phase transitions, the fidelity susceptibility has gained prominence as a universal probe of quantum criticality, even for systems that lack an obviously discernible order parameter. Finally, the study of quantum Fisher information (QFI) in many body systems has seen a surge of interest due to its role as a witness of genuine multipartite entanglement and owing to its utility as a quantifier of quantum resources, in particular those useful in quantum sensing. Rather than a thorough review, our aim is to connect key results within a common conceptual framework that may serve as an introductory guide to the extensive breadth of applications, and deep mathematical roots, of quantum information geometry, with an intended audience of researchers in quantum many body and condensed matter physics.

Geometry-Information Duality: Quantum Entanglement Contributions to Gravitational Dynamics

Abstract:We propose a fundamental duality between the geometric properties of spacetime and the informational content of quantum fields. Specifically, we establish that the curvature of spacetime is directly related to the entanglement entropy of quantum states, with geometric invariants mapping to informational measures. This framework modifies Einstein's field equations by introducing an informational stress-energy tensor derived from quantum entanglement entropy. Our findings have implications for black hole thermodynamics, cosmology, and quantum gravity, suggesting that quantum information fundamentally shapes the structure of spacetime. We incorporate this informational stress-energy tensor into Einstein's field equations, leading to modified spacetime geometry, particularly in regimes of strong gravitational fields, such as near black holes. We compute corrections to Newton's constant (G) due to entanglement entropy contributions from various quantum fields and explore the consequences for black hole thermodynamics and cosmology. These corrections include explicit dependence on fundamental constants (h-bar, c, and k_B), ensuring dimensional consistency in our calculations. Our results indicate that quantum information plays a crucial role in gravitational dynamics, providing new insights into the nature of spacetime and potential solutions to long-standing challenges in quantum gravity.

Abstract:It is known that the Frenet-Serret apparatus of a space curve in three-dimensional Euclidean space determines the local geometry of curves. In particular, the Frenet-Serret apparatus specifies important geometric invariants, including the curvature and the torsion of a curve. It is also acknowledged in quantum information science that low complexity and high efficiency are essential features to achieve when cleverly manipulating quantum states that encode quantum information about a physical system. In this paper, we propose a geometric perspective on how to quantify the bending and the twisting of quantum curves traced by dynamically evolving state vectors. Specifically, we propose a quantum version of the Frenet-Serret apparatus for a quantum trajectory in projective Hilbert space traced by a parallel-transported pure quantum state evolving unitarily under a stationary Hamiltonian specifying the Schrodinger equation. Our proposed constant curvature coefficient is given by the magnitude squared of the covariant derivative of the tangent vector to the state vector and represents a useful measure of the bending of the quantum curve. Our proposed constant torsion coefficient, instead, is defined in terms of the magnitude squared of the projection of the covariant derivative of the tangent vector, orthogonal to both the tangent vector and the state vector. The torsion coefficient provides a convenient measure of the twisting of the quantum curve. Remarkably, we show that our proposed curvature and torsion coefficients coincide with those existing in the literature, although introduced in a completely different manner...

Abstract:It was known long ago that quantum theory and general relativity, two pillars of modern physics, are in sharp conflict in their foundations. Their fundamental inconsistencies render a consistent theory of quantum gravity the most challenging problem in physics. Here we propose an informationcomplete quantum field theory (ICQFT), which describes elementary fermions, their gauge fields, and gravity (together, called the trinary fields) as an elementary trinity without any conceptual inconsistency of existing theories. We then argue that the ICQFT provides a coherent picture and conceptual framework of unifying matter and spacetime (gravity) as information via spacetimematter entanglement and gives a compelling solution to the problem of time and time’s arrow. The trinary fields are characterized by dual entanglement and dual dynamics. Spacetime-matter entanglement encodes complete physical predictions of the theory and allows us to give a quantum information definition of dark energy. We consider two particular forms of spacetime-matter entangled states and their physical consequences. One of them is consistent with the variational holographic relation and another results in an universal relation between entanglement entropy and geometry (area and volume). This latter relation allows us to determine the cosmological constant term in the classical Einstein equation and implies that our Universe is not strictly holographic due to dark energy (related to an universal negative pressure). We predict the interior quantum state of a Schwarzschild black hole to be maximally information-complete. As a concrete quantum formulation of gravity coupled with matter, the ICQFT is about quantum information dynamics for spacetime and matter and eliminates the conceptual obstacles of existing quantum gravity theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct the phase space of a constantly curved tetrahedron with fixed triangle areas in terms of a pair of Darboux coordinates called the length and twist coordinates, which are in analogy to the Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates for flat connections, and their quantization. The curvature is identified to the value of the cosmological constant, either positive or negative. The physical Hilbert space is given by the $\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{su}(2))$ intertwiner space. We show that the quantum trace of quantum monodromies, defining the quantum length operators, form a fusion algebra and describe their representation theory. We also construct the coherent states in the physical Hilbert space labeled by the length and twist coordinates. These coherent states describe quantum curved tetrahedra and peak at points of the tetrahedron phase space. This works is closely related to 3+1 dimensional Loop Quantum Gravity with a non-vanishing cosmological constant. The coherent states constructed herein serve as good candidates for the application to the spinfoam model with a cosmological constant.
