Abstract:The Higgs-strahlung process e(+)e(-) -> ZH and pair production process e(+)e(-) -> HH are studied in the framework of the minimal noncommutative (NC) standard model. In particular, the Feynman rules involving all orders of the noncommutative parameter theta are derived using reclusive formation of the Seiberg-Witten map. It is shown that the total cross section and angular distribution can be significantly affected because of space-time noncommutativity when the collision energy exceeds to 1 TeV. It is found that in each process, there is an optimal collision energy (E-oc) for achieving the greatest noncommutative effect, and E-oc varies linearly with the NC scale Lambda(NC). A brief discussion on the process e+e- -> mu(+)mu(-) is also given.

Abstract:Within a two-band, strong coupling model we analyze SIS-tunneling conductance, Raman scattering and optical conductivity measured on $MgB_2$ samples. We find that features observed in tunneling and Raman spectroscopy at intermediate energies $\omega=\Delta_{\sigma}+\Delta_{\pi}\simeq 8÷10meV$ can be consistently explained when incoherent scattering between $\sigma$ and $\pi$ band is considered. We calculate the optical conductivity and find that strong coupling effects are important for explaining the presently available data, and predict the location and magnitude of interband scattering features for this spectroscopic probe as well.

Abstract:We discuss various experimental tests of the left-right symmetric model possible to perform in the next generation linear colliders. We consider processes which provide sensitive probes of the basic ingredients of the model: right-handed gauge bosons, right-handed Majorana neutrinos, lepton number violating interactions and triplet Higgs scalars. A supersymmetric version of the left-right model is also studied and some distinctive experimental tests for it is proposed. One of the main messages of this talk is to emphasize the usefulness of the collision modes $e^-e^-$, $e^-\gamma$ and $\gamma\gamma$ for the tests of the left-right symmetric model.

Abstract:One of purposes for High Energy accelerator experiments is confrontation of theory and measurements in ever new realms. Any new agreement extends theory applicability domain, any discrepancy hints to unexplained. That calls for better calculations or new, deeper theory. Often one has to search for small contributions over large Standard Model background. Multi-dimensional signatures and complex background subtraction cuts imply that Monte Carlo techniques are indispensable. My talk included description of: KKMC Monte Carlo for e+e- to tau+tau- (n gamma) (with tau decays), generation of additional lepton pairs of SM and New Physics, and of anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments effects.

Abstract:We present a projection study for the first moments of the inclusive spin structure function for the proton and neutron from simulated doubly-polarized e+p and e+3He collision data expected from the Electron-Ion collider. For detection and extraction of the neutron spin asymmetries from e+3He collisions, we used the double-tagging method which significantly reduces the uncertainty over the traditional inclusive method. Using the Bjorken sum rule, the projected results allow us to determine that the QCD coupling at the Z-pole alpha_s can be measured with a relative precision of 1.3%. This underscores the significance of the EIC for achieving precision determinations of alpha_s.

Abstract:The status of the Standard Model (SM) is reviewed. We emphazize the fact that in spite of the success of the SM for the descrition of the fermionic sector, the status of the bosonic sector (gauge and scalar) suffers from many theoretical deficiencies and from the lack of empirical support. This situation, which leaves room for several types of extensions or alternatives to SM, strongly motivates the pursue of intense efforts for finding hints of New Physics (NP) effects. We present a phenomenological description valid for energies lying below the NP scale. We discuss the indirect constraints established from high precision tests at LEP1, as well as the direct tests that could be performed at future machines

Abstract:This note presents constraints on Standard Model parameters using published and preliminary precision electroweak results measured at the electron-positron colliders LEP and SLC. The results are compared with precise electroweak measurements from other experiments, notably CDF and DØat the Tevatron. Constraints on the input parameters of the Standard Model are derived from the results obtained in high-$Q^2$ interactions, and used to predict results in low-$Q^2$ experiments, such as atomic parity violation, Møller scattering, and neutrino-nucleon scattering. The main changes with respect to the experimental results presented in 2007 are new combinations of results on the W-boson mass and width and the mass of the top quark.

Abstract:We search in measurements from LEP, TRISTAN, CDF, DO and UA1 for those phenomena beyond the Standard Model where the fundamental particles can exhibit non point-like behavior. The total and differential cross sections for the reaction e(+)e(-) -> gamma gamma(gamma) measured at center-of-mass energies from 55 GeV to 207 GeV are used for a global fit to test the hypothesis of an excited electron and contact interaction induced terms. The best value for the fit exhibits an approximately 5 a effect for the scale factor of an excited electron of (1/Lambda(4)(+/-))(best) = -(1.11 +/- 0.20) x 10-(10) GeV-4 and the scale of contact interaction of (1/Lambda(4))(best) = -(4.05 +/- 0.73) x 10(-13) GeV-4 but with the opposite to the expected in the modified cross section sign. An empirical scheme is discussed to encompass all fermions and bosons in one framework, if these particles would be geometrically extended objects.

Abstract:We extend the FONLL general-mass variable-flavour-number scheme to the case of longitudinally polarised DIS structure functions, accounting for perturbative corrections up to $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s^2)$. We quantify the impact of charm quark mass and higher-order perturbative corrections on projected measurements of inclusive and charm-tagged longitudinal asymmetries at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) and at the Electron-ion collider in China (EicC). We demonstrate how the inclusion of these corrections is essential to compute predictions with an accuracy that matches the projected precision of the measurements. The computation is made publicly available through the open-source EKO and YADISM programs

Abstract:Abstract We compute the one-loop corrections to σ(e+e−→ Zh) arising from representative extended Standard Model scalar sector scenarios. According to the new scalar SU(2)L representations, we consider the inert doublet, real and complex triplet, quintuplet, and septuplet models. With the sub-percent level precision expected for prospective future e+e− collider measurements of σ(e+e−→ Zh), studies of the Higgsstrahlung process will probe extended scalar sector particle spectrum and interactions in a manner complementary to direct searches at the Large Hadron Collider and possible future pp colliders. We also compare with the sensitivity of future Higgs diphoton decay rate measurements. We find that the σ(e+e−→ Zh) and Γ(h → γγ) complementarity is particularly pronounced for the complex triplet model.

Abstract:The prospects for discovering Higgs particles and studying their fundamental properties at future high--energy electron--positron and photon-photon colliders are reviewed. Both the Standard Model Higgs boson and the Higgs particles of its minimal supersymmetric extension are discussed. We also comment on a two Higgs doublet model searches at LEP 1. We update various results by taking into account the value of the top quark mass obtained by the CDF Collaboration and by including radiative corrections.

Abstract:The past ten years of physics with e+e- colliding experiments at LEP and SLAC have shown the success of these experiments on not only impressively proving the theoretical predictions of the Standard Model (SM), but also to help provide stringent bounds on physics beyond the SM. With this experience in mind, there appear two equally fascinating opportunities for studying fermion-pair production processes at a future Linear Collider (LC). On the one hand, performing high precision measurements to the SM, for example, when running with high luminosity at the Z boson resonance, could be a quick and feasible enterprise in order to pin down the symmetry breaking mechanism of the electroweak sector through indirectly determining the masses of a light SM or MSSM Higgs boson or supersymmetric particles via virtual corrections. On the other hand, looking for such particles in direct production or other `New Physics' effects at energies between, for example, roughly 500 and 800 GeV will naturally be the main motivation to pursue the challenging endeavor of building and utilizing such a unique facility. These two scenarios for the LC shall be sketched here, with particular emphasis on the semi-analytical program ZFITTER for fermion-pair production in comparison with numerical programs like TOPAZ0, KK2f, and others.

Abstract:The process e+ e- -> n gamma with n =2 is studied at centre-of-mass energies ranging from \root(s)=192 to 208 GeV. The data sample corresponds to a total integrated luminosity of 427 1/pb. The total and differential cross sections are found to be in agreement with the QED expectations. Using all the data collected with the L3 detector above the Z pole, limits on deviations from QED, excited electrons, contact interactions, extra space dimensions and excited spin-3/2 leptons are set.

Abstract:Using psi(3770) -> D (D) over bar events collected with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell e(+)e(-) storage ring, tagged by fully reconstructing one D meson in a hadronic decay mode, we measure absolute branching fractions and differential decay rates for D-0 -> pi(-)e(+)v(e), D+ -> pi(0)e(+)v(e), D-0 -> K(-)e(+)v(e), and D+ -> (K) over bar (-)e(+)v(e). The measured decay rates are used to study semileptonic form factors governing these transitions and to test unquenched Lattice QCD (LQCD) calculations. We average our results with previously published CLEO-c measurements of the same quantities using a neutrino reconstruction technique. Combining LQCD calculations of form factor absolute normalizations f(+()0) and measurements of f(+)(pi)(0)vertical bar V-cd vertical bar and f(+)(K)(0)vertical bar V-cs vertical bar, we find vertical bar V-cd vertical bar 0.222(8)(3)(23) and vertical bar V-cs vertical bar 1.018(10)(8)(106), where the uncertainties are statistical, experimental systematic, and from LQCD, respectively.
