Abstract:Several new identities for elliptic hypergeometric series are proved. Remarkably, some of these are elliptic analogues of identities for basic hypergeometric series that are balanced but not very-well-poised.

Abstract:We provide an alternate approach to obtaining expansion formulas on the lines of the well-poised Bailey lemma. We recover results due to Spiridonov and Warnaar and one new formula of this type. These formulas contain an arbitrary sequence as an argument, and are thus flexible in the number of parameters they contain. As a result, we are able to derive $19$ new transformation formulas for elliptic hypergeometric series. These transformation formulas appear to be new even in the basic hypergeometric case, when $p=0$.

Abstract:Using generalized hypergeometric functions to perform symbolic manipulation of equations is of great importance to pure and applied scientists. There are in the literature a great number of identities for the Meijer-G function. On the other hand, when more complex expressions arise, the latter function is not capable of representing them. The H-function is an alternative to overcome this issue, as it is a generalization of the Meijer-G function. In the present paper, a new identity for the H-function is derived. In short, this result enables one to split a particular H-function into the sum of two other H-functions. The new relation in addition to an old result are applied to the summation of hypergeometric series. Finally, some relations between H-functions and elementary functions are built

Abstract:Ismail and Wilson derived a generating function for Askey--Wilson polynomials which is given by a product of $q$-Gauss (Heine) nonterminating basic hypergeometric functions. We provide a generalization of that generating function which contains an extra parameter. A special case gives a closed form summation formula for a quadruple basic hypergeometric sum. Using the Ismail--Wilson generating function combined with explicit summations for terminating balanced basic hypergeometric $_4\phi_3$ series, we compute new basic hypergeometric product transformations for nonterminating basic hypergeometric series and provide corresponding integral representations.

Abstract:We present here a further investigation for the classical Frobenius–Euler polynomials. By making use of the generating function methods and summation transform techniques, we establish some summation formulas for the products of an arbitrary number of the classical Frobenius–Euler polynomials. The results presented here are generalizations of the corresponding known formulas for the classical Bernoulli polynomials and the classical Euler polynomials.

Abstract:The well-known classical summation theorems due to Dougall and certain transformation formulas due to Whipple and Bailey for very well-poised hypergeometric functions are extended by introducing two additional pairs of numerator and denominator parameters with unit differences. These results have been derived with the help of well-known Bailey’s transform and a recently added extension of the Saalschütz theorem in the literature. The special cases of the results are shown to give some contiguous and parameters with integer differences type extensions of numerous hypergeometric summations. Applications of the results to a number of very interesting and general summations for Ramanujan type series involving $\pi $ and some other constants are also discussed.

Abstract:In some recent investigations involving differential operators for generalized Laguerre polynomials, Herman Bavinck ( 1996) encountered and proved a certain summation formula for the classical Laguerre polynomials. The main object of this sequel to Bavinck's work is to prove a generalization of this summation formula for a class of hypergeometric polynomials. The demonstration, which is presented here in the general case, differs markedly from the earlier proof given for the known special case. The general summation formula is also applied to derive the corresponding result for the classical Jacobi polynomials.

Abstract:In a prior paper we found that the Fourier-Legendre series of a Bessel function of the first kind J_{N}\left(kx\right) and of a modified Bessel functions of the first kind I_{N}\left(kx\right) lead to an infinite set of series involving \,_{1}F_{2} hypergeometric functions (extracted therefrom) that could be summed, having values that are inverse powers of the eight primes 1/\left(2^{i}3^{j}5^{k}7^{l}11^{m}13^{n}17^{o}19^{p}\right) multiplying powers of the coefficient k, for the first 22 terms in each series. The present paper shows how to generate additional, doubly infinite summed series involving \,_{1}F_{2} hypergeometric functions from Chebyshev polynomial expansions of Bessel functions, and trebly infinite sets of summed series involving \,_{1}F_{2} hypergeometric functions from Gegenbauer polynomial expansions of Bessel functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain analytical solutions of Laplace transform based some generalized class of the hyperbolic integrals in terms of hypergeometric functions ${}_3F_2 (\pm1)$, ${}_4F_3 (\pm1)$, ${}_5F_4(\pm1)$, ${}_6F_5(\pm1)$, ${}_7F_6(\pm1)$ and ${}_8F_7(\pm1)$ with suitable convergence conditions, by using some algebraic properties of Pochhammer symbols. In addition, reduction formulas for ${}_4F_3(1)$, ${}_7F_6(-1)$ and some new summation theorems (not recorded earlier in the literature of hypergeometric functions) for ${}_3F_2(-1)$, ${}_6F_5(\pm1)$, ${}_7F_6(\pm1)$ and ${}_8F_7(\pm1)$ are obtained.

Abstract:In some recent investigations involving differential operators for a general family of Lagrange polynomials, Chen et al. [Some new results for the Lagrange polynomials in several variables, ANZIAM J. 49 (2007), pp. 243-258] encountered and proved a certain summation identity for the Chan-Chyan-Srivastava polynomials. With a view to extending and generalizing the aforementioned summation identity, we derive the corresponding results for one class of hypergeometric polynomials, the Jacobi polynomials, the extended Jacobi polynomials, the Laguerre polynomials, the Hermite polynomials, the Lagrange-Hermite polynomials and the Erku-Srivastava polynomials.

Abstract:In the theory of hypergeometric series and generalized hypergeometric series, classical summation theorems, such as the two of Gauss and those of Kummer and Bailey for the series 2F1; those of Watson, Dixon, Whipple, and Saalschutz for the series 3F2; and others, play a key role. Applications of these classical summation theorems are well known. Berndt pointed out that a large number of interesting summations (including Ramanujan's summations and the Gregory–Leibniz pi summation) can be obtained very quickly by employing the above-mentioned classical summation theorems. Also, several interesting results involving products of generalized hypergeometric series have been obtained by Bailey by employing the above-mentioned classical summation theorems. Recently, the above-mentioned classical summation theorems have been generalized and extended. In our present investigations, our aim is to demonstrate the applications of the extended Kummer's summation theorem in establishing (i) extensions of Gauss's second summation theorem and Bailey's summation theorem; (ii) extensions of several summations (including Ramanujan's summations); (iii) extensions of several results involving products of generalized hypergeometric series; and (iv) an extension of classical Dixon's summation theorem. As special cases, we recover several known summations (including several Ramanujan summations and the Gregory–Leibniz pi summation) and various results involving products of generalized hypergeometric series due to Bailey.

Abstract:This paper presents an approach to summing a few families of infinite series involving hyperbolic functions, some of which were first studied by Ramanujan. The key idea is based on their contour integral representations and residue computations with the help of some well-known results of Eisenstein series given by Ramanujan, Berndt, et al. As our main results, several series involving hyperbolic functions are evaluated and expressed in terms of z=F12(1/2,1/2;1;x) and z′=dz/dx. When a certain parameter in these series is equal to π, the series are expressed in closed forms in terms of some special values of the Gamma function. Moreover, many new illustrative examples are presented.
