Abstract:A new approach for derivation of Benney-like momentum chains and integrable hydrodynamic type systems is presented. New integrable hydrodynamic chains are constructed, all their reductions are described and integrated. New (2+1) integrable hydrodynamic type systems are found.

Simultaneously, this approach yields explicit Hamiltonian hydrodynamic reductions of the Hamiltonian hydrodynamic chains. The concept of reducible Poisson brackets is established. Also this approach is useful for non-Hamiltonian hydrodynamic chains. The deformed Benney hydrodynamic chain is considered.

Abstract:This article explores the exceptional integrability property of a family of higher-order Benjamin-Bona-Mahony (BBM)-type nonlinear dispersive equations. Here, we highlight its deep relationship with a generalized infinite hierarchy of the integrable Riemann-type hydrodynamic equations. A previous Lie symmetry analysis revealed a particular case which was conjectured to be integrable. Namely, a Lie-Baecklund symmetry exists, thus highlighting another associated dynamical system. Here, we investigate these two equations using the gradient-holonomic integrability scheme. Moreover, we construct their infinite hierarchy of conservation laws analytically, using three compatible Poisson structures to prove the complete integrability of both dynamical systems. We investigate these two equations using the so-called gradient-holonomic integrability scheme. Based on this scheme, applied to the equation under consideration, we have analytically constructed its infinite hierarchy of conservation laws, derived two compatible Poisson structures and proved its complete integrability.

Abstract:In this paper we consider integrable dispersive chains associated with the so called Energy Dependent Schrodinger operator. In a general case multi component reductions of these dispersive chains are new integrable systems, which are characterised by two arbitrary natural numbers. Also we show that integrable three dimensional linearly degenerate quasilinear equations of a second order possess infinitely many differential constraints. Corresponding dispersive reductions are integrable systems associated with the Energy Dependent Schrodinger operator.

Abstract:We prove the hydrodynamic limit for a one dimensional harmonic chain with a random flip of the momentum sign. The system is open and subject to two thermostats at the boundaries and to an external tension at one of the endpoints. Under a diffusive scaling of space-time, we prove that the empirical profiles of the two locally conserved quantities, the volume stretch and the energy, converge to the solution of a non-linear diffusive system of conservative partial differential equations.

Abstract:We develop a new method for constructing integrable Hamiltonian hierarchies of Lax type equations, which combines the fractional powers technique of Gelfand and Dickey, and the classical Hamiltonian reduction technique of Drinfeld and Sokolov. The method is based on the notion of an Adler type matrix pseudodifferential operator and the notion of a generalized quasideterminant. We also introduce the notion of a dispersionless Adler type series, which is applied to the study of dispersionless Hamiltonian equations. Non-commutative Hamiltonian equations are discussed in this framework as well.

Abstract:Recently, a hydrodynamic description of local equilibrium dynamics in quantum integrable systems was discovered. In the diffusionless limit, this is equivalent to a certain 'Bethe–Boltzmann' kinetic equation, which has the form of an integro-differential conservation law in D. The purpose of the present work is to investigate the sense in which the Bethe–Boltzmann equation defines an 'integrable kinetic equation'. To this end, we study a class of N dimensional systems of evolution equations that arise naturally as finite-dimensional approximations to the Bethe–Boltzmann equation. We obtain non-local Poisson brackets and Hamiltonian densities for these equations and derive an infinite family of first integrals, parameterized by N functional degrees of freedom. We find that the conserved charges arising from quantum integrability map to Casimir invariants of the hydrodynamic bracket and their group velocities map to Hamiltonian flows. Some results from the finite-dimensional setting extend to the underlying integro-differential equation, providing evidence for its integrability in the hydrodynamic sense.

Abstract:We review recent progress in understanding nearly integrable models within the framework of generalized hydrodynamics (GHD). Integrable systems have infinitely many conserved quantities and stable quasiparticle excitations: when integrability is broken, only a few residual conserved quantities survive, eventually leading to thermalization, chaotic dynamics and conventional hydrodynamics. In this review, we summarize recent efforts to take into account small integrability breaking terms, and describe the transition from GHD to standard hydrodynamics. We discuss the current state of the art, with emphasis on weakly inhomogeneous potentials, generalized Boltzmann equations and collision integrals, as well as bound-state recombination effects. We also identify important open questions for future works.

Abstract:In Affine Toda field theory, links among three generating functions for integrals of motion derived from Part (I) are studied, and some classically integrable boundary conditions are obtained. An infinite number of integrals of motion are calculated in ZMS model with quasi-periodic condition. We find the classically integrable boundary conditions and K+/-, matrices of ZMS model with independent boundary conditions on each end. It is identified that an infinite number of integrals of motion does exist and one of them is the Hamiltonian, so this system is completely integrable.

Abstract:We show that hydrodynamic diffusion is generically present in many-body interacting integrable models. We extend the recently developed generalised hydrodynamic (GHD) to include terms of Navier-Stokes type which lead to positive entropy production and diffusive relaxation mechanisms. These terms provide the subleading diffusive corrections to Euler-scale GHD for the large-scale non-equilibrium dynamics of integrable systems, and arise due to two-body scatterings among quasiparticles. We give exact expressions for the diffusion coefficients. Our results apply to a large class of integrable models, including quantum and classical, Galilean and relativistic field theories, chains and gases in one dimension, such as the Lieb-Liniger model describing cold atom gases and the Heisenberg quantum spin chain. We provide numerical evaluations in the Heisenberg spin chain, both for the spin diffusion constant, and for the diffusive effects during the melting of a small domain wall of spins, finding excellent agreement with tDMRG numerical simulations.

New classical integrable systems from generalized $T\bar{T}$-deformations

Abstract:We introduce and study a novel class of classical integrable many-body systems obtained by generalized $T\bar{T}$-deformations of free particles. Deformation terms are bilinears in densities and currents for the continuum of charges counting asymptotic particles of different momenta. In these models, which we dub ``semiclassical Bethe systems'' for their link with the dynamics of Bethe ansatz wave packets, many-body scattering processes are factorised, and two-body scattering shifts can be set to an almost arbitrary function of momenta. The dynamics is local but inherently different from that of known classical integrable systems. At short scales, the geometry of the deformation is dynamically resolved: either particles are slowed down (more space available), or accelerated via a novel classical particle-pair creation/annihilation process (less space available). The thermodynamics both at finite and infinite volumes is described by the equations of (or akin to) the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz, and at large scales generalized hydrodynamics emerge.

Focusing on the solutions of the corresponding Liouville equation, we show that propagation of chaos holds. Moreover, considering monokinetic solutions, we also obtain a rigorous derivation of the hydrodynamic description given by a pressureless Euler-type system.

Abstract:In this paper we discuss a family of models of particle and energy diffusion on a one-dimensional lattice, related to those studied previously in [Sasamoto-Wadati], [Barraquand-Corwin] and [Povolotsky] in the context of KPZ universality class. We show that they may be mapped onto an integrable $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ Heisenberg spin chain whose Hamiltonian density in the bulk has been already studied in the AdS/CFT and the integrable system literature. Using the quantum inverse scattering method, we study various new aspects, in particular we identify boundary terms, modeling reservoirs in non-equilibrium statistical mechanics models, for which the spin chain (and thus also the stochastic process) continues to be integrable. We also show how the construction of a "dual model" of probability theory is possible and useful. The fluctuating hydrodynamics of our stochastic model corresponds to the semiclassical evolution of a string that derives from correlation functions of local gauge invariant operators of $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory (SYM), in imaginary-time. As any stochastic system, it has a supersymmetric completion that encodes for the thermal equilibrium theorems: we show that in this case it is equivalent to the $\mathfrak{sl}(2|1)$ superstring that has been derived directly from $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM.

Abstract:Generalised Hydrodynamics (GHD) describes the large-scale inhomogeneous dynamics of integrable (or close to integrable) systems in one dimension of space, based on a central equation for the fluid density or quasi-particle density: the GHD equation. We consider a new, general form of the GHD equation: we allow for spatially extended interaction kernels, generalising previous constructions. We show that the GHD equation, in our general form and hence also in its conventional form, is Hamiltonian. This holds also including force terms representing inhomogeneous external potentials coupled to conserved densities. To this end, we introduce a new Poisson bracket on functionals of the fluid density, which is seen as our dynamical field variable. The total energy is the Hamiltonian whose flow under this Poisson bracket generates the GHD equation. The fluid density depends on two (real and spectral) variables so the GHD equation can be seen as a $2+1$-dimensional classical field theory. We further show the system admits an infinite set of conserved quantities that are in involution for our Poisson bracket, hinting at integrability of this field theory.

Abstract:The conventional theory of hydrodynamics describes the evolution in time of chaotic many-particle systems from local to global equilibrium. In a quantum integrable system, local equilibrium is characterized by a local generalized Gibbs ensemble or equivalently a local distribution of pseudomomenta. We study time evolution from local equilibria in such models by solving a certain kinetic equation, the "Bethe-Boltzmann" equation satisfied by the local pseudomomentum density. Explicit comparison with density matrix renormalization group time evolution of a thermal expansion in the XXZ model shows that hydrodynamical predictions from smooth initial conditions can be remarkably accurate, even for small system sizes. Solutions are also obtained in the Lieb-Liniger model for free expansion into vacuum and collisions between clouds of particles, which model experiments on ultracold one-dimensional Bose gases.

Abstract:When both Hamiltonian operators of a bi-Hamiltonian system are pure differential operators, we show that the generalized Kupershmidt deformation (GKD) developed from the Kupershmidt deformation in \cite{kd} offers an useful way to construct new integrable system starting from the bi-Hamiltonian system. We construct some new integrable systems by means of the generalized Kupershmidt deformation in the cases of Harry Dym hierarchy, classical Boussinesq hierarchy and coupled KdV hierarchy. We show that the GKD of Harry Dym equation, GKD of classical Boussinesq equation and GKD of coupled KdV equation are equivalent to the new integrable Rosochatius deformations of these soliton equations with self-consistent sources. We present the Lax Pair for these new systems. Therefore the generalized Kupershmidt deformation provides a new way to construct new integrable systems from bi-Hamiltonian systems and also offers a new approach to obtain the Rosochatius deformation of soliton equation with self-consistent sources.

Abstract:A spectral problem and the associated hierarchy of Schrodinger type equations are proposed. It is shown that the hierarchy is integrable in Liouville's sense and possesses multi-Hamiltonian structure. It is found that several kinds of important equation such as the Kaup-Newell (KN) equation, the Chen-Lee-Liu (CLL) equation, the Gerdjikov-Ivanov (GI) equation, the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation and the Sharma-Tasso-Olever equation are members in the hierarchy as its special reductions. Moreover, KN, CLL and GI equations are described by using a unified generalized derivative Schrodinger equation involving a parameter, and their Hamiltonian structure and Lax pairs are also given by unified and explicit formulae.
