Abstract:Care homes provide long-term care for adults with complex needs. Despite the potential benefits from generating inclusive evidence, participation from residents and staff remains comparatively low [1]. Care homes are first and foremost people's homes, but homes shared by many residents with diverse physical and mental needs, and with staff, families, friends and other visitors. Research undertaken here needs to be respectful of this environment, which can be dynamic and unpredictable, and tailored to the care home context to allow more equitable participation.
