Abstract:Let λ and μ be sequence spaces and have both the signed-weak gliding hump property, (λ, μ) the algebra of the infinite matrix operators which transform λ into μ. In this paper, it is proved that if λ and μ are β-spaces and λ β and μ β have also the signed-weak gliding hump property, then for any polar topology τ, ((λ, μ), τ) is always sequentially complete locally convex topological algebra.

Abstract:In this work, for a finite group G and a 4-cocycle omega is an element of Z(4)(G, k(x)), we compute explicitly the center of the monoidal 2-category 2Vec(G)(omega) of omega-twisted G-graded 1-categories of finite dimensional k-vector spaces. This center gives a precise mathematical description of the topological defects in the associated 3+1D Dijkgraaf-Witten TQFT. We prove that this center is a braided monoidal 2-category with a trivial sylleptic center. (C) 2019 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
An $\infty$-Category of 2-Segal Spaces

Abstract:Algebra objects in $\infty$-categories of spans admit a description in terms of $2$-Segal objects. We introduce a notion of span between $2$-Segal objects and extend this correspondence to an equivalence of $\infty$-categories. Additionally, for every $\infty$-category with finite limits $\mathcal{C}$, we introduce a notion of a birelative $2$-Segal object in $\mathcal{C}$ and establish a similar equivalence with the $\infty$-category of bimodule objects in spans. Examples of these concepts arise from algebraic and hermitian K-theory through the corresponding Waldhausen $S_{\bullet}$-construction. Apart from their categorical relevance, these concepts can be used to construct homotopy coherent representations of Hall algebras.

Abstract:The equivariant cohomology of certain moduli spaces of sheaves on isotrivial elliptic surfaces are shown to admit representations of infinite dimensional Lie (super)algebras. The construction is based on work of Billig and Chen-Li-Tan on vertex representations of toroidal extended affine Lie algebras, and a geometric interpretation of bc-ghost systems on Hilbert schemes of points on ruled surfaces. The role of higher-nullity toroidal extended affine lie algebras are discussed in relation to tensor products of modules of a Yangian-like associative algebra. Applications to enumerative geometry are discussed in the introduction.

Abstract:Let $t$ be a positive integer. Following work of D. M. Davis, we study the topology of complex-projective product spaces, i.e. quotients of cartesian products of odd dimensional spheres by the diagonal $S^1$-action, and of the $t$-torsion lens product spaces, i.e. the corresponding quotients when the action is restricted to the $t^{\mathrm{th}}$ roots of unity. For a commutative complex-oriented cohomology theory $h^*$, we determine the $h^*$-cohomology ring of these spaces (in terms of the $t$-series for $h^*$, in the case of $t$-torsion lens product spaces). When $h^*$ is singular cohomology with mod 2 coefficients, we also determine the action of the Steenrod algebra. We show that these spaces break apart after a suspension as a wedge of desuspensions of usual stunted complex projective ($t$-torsion lens) spaces. We estimate the category and topological complexity of complex-projective and lens product spaces, showing in particular that these invariants are usually much lower than predicted by the usual dimensional bounds. We extend Davis' analysis of manifold properties such as immersion dimension, (stable-)span, and (stable-)parallelizability of real projective product spaces to the complex-projective and lens product cases.

Abstract:This paper is a discussion on $\infty$-categorical approaches to Hodge-Iwasawa Theory, which was initiated in our project on the $\infty$-categorical approaches to Hodge-Iwasawa Theory. The theory aims at the serious unification of $p$-adic Hodge Theory and $p$-adic Iwasawa Theory, by taking deformation of Hodge-theoretic constructions along some consideration in Iwasawa Theory beyond the Iwasawa deformation of certain motives in the general sense. The Hodge modules in our current consideration will be essentially within $\infty$-categorical derived categories of inductive Banach modules and $\infty$-categorical derived categories of condensed solidification of certain topological modules.

CP$^{\infty}$ and beyond: 2-categorical dilation theory

Abstract:The problem of extending the insights and techniques of categorical quantum mechanics to infinite-dimensional systems was considered in (Coecke and Heunen, 2016). In that work the $\mathrm{CP}^{\infty}$-construction, which recovers the category of Hilbert spaces and quantum operations from the category of Hilbert spaces and bounded linear maps, was defined. Here we show that by a `horizontal categorification' of the $\mathrm{CP}^{\infty}$-construction, one can recover the category of all von Neumann algebras and channels (normal unital completely positive maps) from the 2-category $[W^*]$ of von Neumann algebras, bimodules and intertwiners. As an application, we extend Choi's characterisation of extremal channels between finite-dimensional matrix algebras to a characterisation of extremal channels between arbitrary von Neumann algebras.

Abstract:We have performed high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on YBa2Cu3O7-delta (Y123; delta = 0.06; Tc = 92 K). By accurately determining the Fermi surface and energy band dispersion, we solve long-standing controversial issues as to the anomalous electronic states of Y-based high-Tc cuprates. We unambiguously identified surface-bilayer-derived bonding and antibonding bands, together with their bulk counterparts. The surface bands are highly overdoped (hole concentration x = 0.29), showing no evidence for the gap opening or the dispersion anomaly in the antinodal region, while the bulk bands show a clear dx2-y2-wave superconducting gap and the Bogoliubov quasiparticle-like behavior with a characteristic energy scale of 50-60 meV indicative of a strong electron-boson coupling in the superconducting state. All these results suggest that the metallic and superconducting states coexist at the adjacent bilayer of Y123 surface.

Abstract:Background:: The degree sequence of a graph is the list of its vertex degrees arranged in usually increasing order. Many properties of the graphs realized from a degree sequence can be deduced by means of a recently introduced graph invariant called omega invariant. Methods:: We used the definitions of the considered graph products together with the list of de-gree sequences of these graph products for some well-know graph classes. Naturally, the vertex degree and edge degree partitions are used. As the main theme of the paper is the omega invari-ant, we frequently used the definition and fundamental properties of this very new invariant for our calculations. Also, some algebraic properties of these products are deduced in line with some recent publications following the same fashion Results:: In this paper, we determine the degree sequences of strong and lexicographic products of two graphs and obtain the general form of the degree sequences of both products. We obtain a general formula for the omega invariant of strong and lexicographic products of two graphs. The algebraic structures of strong and lexicographic products are obtained. Moreover, we prove that strong and lexicographic products are not distributive over each other Conclusion:: We have obtained the general expression for degree sequences of two important products of graphs and a general expression for omega invariants of strong and lexicographic products. Furthermore, we have obtained algebraic structures of strong and lexicographic prod-ucts in terms of their degree sequences. Also, it has been found that the disruptive property does not hold for strong and lexicographic products.

As in our previous articles on the $\infty$-categorical extensions of certain analytic and topological contexts, we discuss the corresponding prismatic cohomological constructions after Bhatt-Lurie, Bhatt-Scholze and Drinfeld, and the corresponding Robba stacks and sheaves after Kedlaya-Liu.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Hochschild cohomology ring of convolution algebras associated to orbifolds, as well as their deformation quantizations. In the first case, the ring structure is given in terms of a wedge product on twisted polyvectorfields on the inertia orbifold. After deformation quantization, the ring structure defines a product on the cohomology of the inertia orbifold. We study the relation between this product and an S 1 -equivariant version of the Chen–Ruan product. In particular, we give a de Rham model for this equivariant orbifold cohomology.

Abstract:In this paper, the authors introduce a new definition of ∞-tilting (resp. cotilting) subcategories with infinite projective dimensions (resp. injective dimensions) in an extriangulated category. They give a Bazzoni characterization of ∞-tilting (resp. cotilting) subcategories. Also, they obtain a partial Auslander-Reiten correspondence between ∞-tilting (resp. cotilting) subcategories and coresolving (resp. resolving) subcategories with an -projective generator (resp. -injective cogenerator) in an extriangulated category.

Abstract:Recently, Gorenstein dimensions relative to a semidualizing module have been the subject of numerous studies with interesting extensions of the classical homological dimensions. Although all these studies share the same direction, a common basis, and similar final goals, there is no common framework encompassing them as parts of a whole, progressing, on different fronts, towards the same end. We provide this general and global framework in the context of abelian categories, standardizing terminology and notation: we establish a general context by defining Gorenstein categories relative to two classes of objects ((X,Y)-Gorenstein categories, denoted G(X,Y)), and carry out a study of the homological dimensions associated with them. We prove, under some mild standard conditions, the corresponding version of the Comparison Lemma that ensures the consistency of a homological-dimension theory. We show that Ext functors can be used as tools to compute these G(X,Y)-dimensions, and we compare the dimensions obtained using the classes G(X) with those computed using G(X,Y). We also initiate a research of the global dimensions obtained with these classes G(X,Y) and find conditions for them to be finite. Finally, we show that these classes of Gorenstein objects are closely and interestingly related to the Foxby classes induced by a pair of functors. Namely, we prove that the Auslander and Bass classes are indeed G(X,Y) categories for some specific classes X and Y.

Abstract:We explore the interplay between omega-categoricity and pseudofiniteness for groups, conjecturing that omega-categorical pseudofinite groups are finite-by-abelian-by-finite. We show that the conjecture reduces to nilpotent p-groups of class 2, and give a proof that several of the known examples of omega-categorical p-groups satisfy the conjecture. In particular, we show by a direct counting argument that for any odd prime p the (omega-categorical) model companion of the theory of nilpotent class 2 exponent p groups, constructed by Saracino and Wood, is not pseudofinite, and that an omega-categorical group constructed by Baudisch with supersimple rank 1 theory is not pseudofinite. We also survey some scattered literature on omega-categorical groups over 50 years.

Abstract:We construct universal monoidal categories of topological tensor supermodules over the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}(V\oplus \Pi V)$ and $\mathfrak{osp}(V\oplus \Pi V)$ associated with a Tate space $V$. Here $V\oplus \Pi V$ is a $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$-graded topological vector space whose even and odd parts are isomorphic to $V$. We discuss the purely even case first, by introducing monoidal categories$\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{gl}(V)}$, $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{o}(V)}$ and $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{sp}(V)}$, and show that these categories are anti-equivalent to respective previously studied categories $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{gl}(V)}$, $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{o}(V)}$, $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{sp}(V)}$. These latter categories have certain universality properties as monoidal categories, which consequently carry over to $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{gl}(V)}$, $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{o}(V)}$ and $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{sp}(V)}$. Moreover, the categories $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{o}(V)}$ and $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{sp}(V)}$ are known to be equivalent, and this implies the equivalence of the categories $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{o}(V)}$ and $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{sp}(V)}$. After introducing a supersymmetric setting, we establish the equivalence of the category $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{gl}(V)}$ with the category $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{gl}(V\oplus \Pi V)}$, and the equivalence of both categories $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{o}(V)}$ and $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{sp}(V)}$ with $\widehat{\mathbf{T}}_{\mathfrak{osp}(V\oplus \Pi V)}$.

Abstract:We are concerned with the center (=quantum double) of tensor categories and prove generalizations of several results proven previously for quantum doubles of Hopf algebras. We consider F-linear tensor categories C with simple unit and finitely many isomorphism classes of simple objects. We assume that C is either a *-category (i.e. there is a positive *-operation on the morphisms) or semisimple and spherical over an algebraically closed field F. In the latter case we assume that dim C=sum_i d(X_i)^2 is non-zero, where the summation runs over the isomorphism classes of simple objects. We prove: (i) Z(C) is a semisimple spherical (or *-) category. (ii) Z(C) is weakly monoidally Morita equivalent (in the sense of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="math.CT/0111204" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/math.CT/0111204">math.CT/0111204</a>) to C X C^op. This implies dim Z(C)=(dim C)^2. (iii) We analyze the simple objects of Z(C) in terms of certain finite dimensional algebras, of which Ocneanu's tube algebra is the smallest. We prove the conjecture of Gelfand and Kazhdan according to which the number of simple objects of Z(C) coincides with the dimension of the state space H_{S^1\times S^1} of the torus in the triangulation TQFT built from C. (iv) We prove that Z(C) is modular and we compute the Gauss sums Delta_+/-(Z(C))=sum_i theta(X_i)^{+/- 1}d(X_i)^2=dim C. (v) Finally, if C is already modular then Z(C)\simeq C X C~, where C~ is the tensor category C with the braiding c~_{X,Y}=c_{Y,X}^{-1}.

Algebraic string topology from the neighborhood of infinity

Abstract:We construct and study an algebraic analogue of the loop coproduct in string topology, also known as the Goresky-Hingston coproduct. Our algebraic setup, which under this analogy takes the place of the complex of chains on the free loop space of a possibly non-simply connected manifold, is the Hochschild chain complex of a smooth $A_{\infty}$-category equipped with a pre-Calabi-Yau structure and a trivialization of a version of the Chern character of its diagonal bimodule. The algebraic analogue of the loop coproduct is part of a more general mapping cone construction, which we describe in terms of the categorical formal punctured neighborhood of infinity associated to the underlying smooth $A_\infty$-category. We use a graphical formalism for $A_\infty$-categories and bimodules to describe explicit models for the operations and homotopies involved. We also compute explicitly the algebraic coproduct in the context of the string topology of spheres.
