Abstract:We generalize the spinorial characterization of isometric immersions of surfaces in R^3 given by T. Friedrich (On the spinor representation of surfaces in Euclidean 3-space, J. Geom. Phys. 28 (1998)) to surfaces in S^3 and H^3. The main argument is the interpretation of the energy-momentum tensor associated with a special spinor field as a second fundamental form. It turns out that such a characterization of isometric immersions in terms of a special section of the spinor bundle also holds in the case of hypersurfaces in the Euclidean 4-space.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is to understand the behavior of renormalisation group flows between non - unitary minimal W - models, especially the non - monotonicity of the effective central charge of these models as the system size changes. Specifically, the paper focuses on: 1. **Non - monotonic behavior in non - unitary models**: Recent research has revealed that the ground - state energy \(E_0(R)\) of non - unitary minimal models exhibits non - monotonicity as a function of the system size \(R\). This non - monotonicity is reflected through the finite - size scaling function \(c_{\text{eff}}(r)\), where \(r = MR\) and \(M\) is the so - called crossover scale. The formula is as follows: \[ E_0(R)=E_{\text{bulk}}(M, R)-\frac{\pi c_{\text{eff}}(r)}{6R}, \quad r = MR \] When the system size approaches zero, the effective central charge \(c_{\text{eff}}(r)\) approaches: \[ \lim_{r \to 0}c_{\text{eff}}(r)=c - 24\Delta_0 \] where \(c\) is the actual central charge and \(\Delta_0\) is the conformal dimension of the lowest primary field in the ultraviolet fixed - point conformal field theory (UV CFT). 2. **Introduction of new nonlinear integral equations (NLIEs)**: In order to better study the behavior of these non - unitary models, the author proposes a new set of nonlinear integral equations. These equations are applicable not only to unitary models but also to non - unitary models and can provide direct access to the effective central charge. 3. **Verification and comparison**: Verify the validity of these new equations by numerical and analytical methods and compare their results with the known thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations. In particular, the author studies the minimal models \(W_{G,p,q}^N\) based on the simple Lie algebras \(G = A_{n - 1}, D_n, E_6, E_7, E_8\) and explores the behavior of these models under different parameters. In summary, this paper aims to gain a deep understanding of the behavior of renormalisation group flows between non - unitary minimal W - models, especially the non - monotonicity of the effective central charge, by introducing new mathematical tools (NLIEs), and to verify the validity of these new tools.
