Abstract:We introduce a cohomology theory that classifies differential objects that arise from Picard-Vessiot theory, using the differential Hopf-Galois descent. To do this, we provide an explicit description of Picard-Vessiot theory in terms of differential torsors. We then use this cohomology to give a bijective correspondence between differential objects and differential torsors. As an application, we prove a universal bound for the differential splitting degree of differential central simple algebras.

Abstract:Basing on Picard-Vessiot theory of noncommutative differential equations and algebraic combinatorics on noncommutative formal series with holomorphic coefficients, various recursive constructions of sequences of grouplike series converging to solutions of universal differential equation are proposed. Basing on monoidal factorizations, these constructions intensively use diagonal series and various pairs of bases in duality, in concatenation-shuffle bialgebra and in a Loday's generalized bialgebra. As applications, the unique solution, satisfying asymptotic conditions, of Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations is provided by dévissage.

Abstract:In this article, we introduce and develop the notion of parametrised Poincaré duality in the formalism of parametrised higher category theory by Martini-Wolf, in part generalising Cnossen's theory of twisted ambidexterity to the nonpresentable setting. We prove several basechange results, allowing us to move between different coefficient categories and ambient topoi. We then specialise the general framework to yield a good theory of equivariant Poincaré duality spaces for compact Lie groups and apply our basechange results to obtain a suite of isotropy separation methods. Finally, we employ this theory to perform various categorical Smith-theoretic manoeuvres to prove, among other things, a generalisation of a theorem of Atiyah-Bott and Conner-Floyd on group actions with single fixed points.

Abstract:Since 1883, Picard-Vessiot theory had been developed as the Galois theory of differential field extensions associated to linear differential equations. Inspired by categorical Galois theory of Janelidze, and by using novel methods of precategorical descent applied to algebraic-geometric situations, we develop a Galois theory that applies to morphisms of differential schemes, and vastly generalises the linear Picard-Vessiot theory, as well as the strongly normal theory of Kolchin.

Abstract:In this paper, we studied the Picard–Fuchs systems and equations which appear in the theory of Gauss–Manin systems and connections associated with deformations of isolated singularities. Among other things, we describe some interesting properties of such systems and relationships between them. Then we show how to calculate the fundamental solutions to the Gauss–Manin system for Aμ-singularities and to the corresponding generalized Legendre equations in terms of the multidimensional Horn’s hypergeometric functions. In conclusion, some important questions concerning basic properties of the local and global Picard–Fuchs systems of Pfaffian type, involving integrability conditions and commuting relations, are discussed in some detail.

Abstract:We consider the Picard's problem via Nevanlinna theory for complete Kähler manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature. When the manifold is non-parabolic, which means that it carries a positive global Green function, we give a positive answer to the Picard's problem. That is, we confirm that every meromorphic function on such a (non-compact) manifold reduces to a constant if it omits three distinct values.

Abstract:M. Takeuchi (1989) proposed a Hopf-algebraic approach to Picard-Vessiot (or PV) theory, giving a new definition of PV extensions by which such extensions become more smoothly connected, through Hopf-Galois extensions, to the associated affine group schemes. This paper extends PV theory to the supersymmetric (or SUSY) context, following Takeuchi's approach. The notion of SUSY fields is defined. Differential fields in the existing PV theory are replaced by $D$-SUSY fields, where $D$ is an acting super-cocommutative Hopf superalgebra. Hopf-Galis extensions here play a more and more crucial role.

Parameter Dependence of Complex Geodesics and Its Applications

Abstract:We study the parameter dependence of complex geodesics with prescribed boundary value and direction on bounded strongly linearly convex domains. As an important application, we present a quantitative relationship between the regularity of the pluricomplex Poisson kernel of such a domain, which is a solution to a homogeneous complex Monge-Ampère equation with boundary singularity, and that of the boundary of the domain. Our results improve considerably previous ones in this direction due to Chang-Hu-Lee and Bracci-Patrizio.

Abstract:This work is motivated by an attempt to construct a two-dimensional analogue of the Wiener--Hopf method. It is supposed that understanding the branching structure of unknown functions will provide insight into the form in which these functions can be sought. The unknown functions are represented as two-dimensional integrals of analytic functions with parameters, making it natural to study the branching of the integration surface using Picard--Lefschetz theory. A convenient matrix-vector representation of the main result of Picard--Lefschetz theory is introduced, and the following two statements are formulated. First, under certain constraints, the integration surface can be represented as a finite-dimensional vector with coefficients in the group ring over the fundamental group of the space with removed singularities. Second, a bypass in the parameter space around one of the components of the Landau set is described by multiplication by a relatively simple matrix (also composed of elements from the group ring). Successive loops are described by the product of such matrices. As an illustration, it is shown how the matrix formalism yields the Picard-Lefschetz formula and provides nontrivial topological relationships in the parameter space.

On the $v$-Picard group of Stein spaces

Abstract:We study the image of the Hodge-Tate logarithm map (in any cohomological degree), defined by Heuer, in the case of smooth Stein varieties. Heuer, motivated by the computations for the affine space of any dimension, raised the question whether this image is always equal to the group of closed differential forms. We show that it indeed always contains such forms but the quotient can be non-trivial: it contains a slightly mysterious $Z_p$-module that maps, via the Bloch-Kato exponential map, to integral classes in the pro-étale cohomology. This quotient is already non-trivial for open unit discs of dimension strictly greater than $1$.

Abstract:We study the discrete version of the $p$-Laplacian. Based on its variational properties we discuss some features of the associated parabolic problem. Our approach allows us in turn to obtain interesting information about positivity and comparison principles as well as compatibility with the symmetries of the graph. We conclude briefly discussing the variational properties of a handful of nonlinear generalized Laplacians appearing in different parabolic equations.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we present Picard's iterative method (PIM) for solving time–space fractional partial differential equations, where the derivatives are considered in the Caputo sense. We prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions. Additionally, we demonstrate the versatility of our proposed approach by obtaining exact solutions for a diverse set of equations. This method is user-friendly and directly applicable to any computer algebra system. The proposed method avoids intricate computations associated with the Adomian decomposition method, such as calculating Adomian polynomials, or the requirements of other methods like choosing a homotopy in the homotopy perturbation method, identification and manipulation of the invariant subspace in invariant subspace method or constructing a variational function in the variational iteration method. Thus, the proposed method is a versatile and efficient tool for exploring systems that involve both temporal and spatial fractional derivatives.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore various equivalences of Ekeland's variational principle within the framework of group-invariant mappings. We introduce and analyze several key theorems, including the Drop theorem, the Petal theorem, Caristi-Kirk fxed-point theorem, and Takahashi's theorem, all of them within this context. Moreover, we extend the classical Drop theorem and Petal theorem to a more generalized setting. We also demonstrate the practical signifcance of these findings through numerous applications to diverse areas of mathematics. In particular, in the context of partial differential equations, we explore their implications on the solution of the Plateau problem, and in control theory. We also extend the classical Pontyargin maximum principle.

Abstract:We present a Galois theory of parameterized linear differential equations where the Galois groups are linear differential algebraic groups, that is, groups of matrices whose entries are functions of the parameters and satisfy a set of differential equations with respect to these parameters. We present the basic constructions and results, give examples, discuss how isomonodromic families fit into this theory and show how results from the theory of linear differential algebraic groups may be used to classify systems of second order linear differential equations.

Abstract:We present a novel approach for loop integral reduction in the Feynman parametrization using intersection theory and relative cohomology. In this framework, Feynman integrals correspond to boundary-supported differential forms in the language of relative cohomology. The integral reduction can then be achieved by computing intersection numbers. We apply our method in several examples to demonstrate its correctness, and discuss the subtleties in certain degenerate limits.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a simple Lie Group with finite center, and let $K\subset G$ be a maximal compact subgroup. We say that $G$ is a Lie group of tube type if $G/K$ is a hermitian symmetric space of tube type. For such a Lie group $G$, we can find a parabolic subgroup $P=MAN$, with given Langlands decomposition, such that $N$ is abelian, and $N$ admits a generic character with compact stabilizer. We will call any parabolic subgroup $P$ satisfying this properties a Siegel parabolic. Let $(\pi,V)$ be an admissible, smooth, Fréchet representation of a Lie group of tube type $G$, and let $P \subset G$ be a Siegel parabolic subgroup. If $\chi$ is a generic character of $N$, let $Wh_{\chi}(V)={\lambda:V \longrightarrow \mathbb{C} | \lambda(\pi(n)v)=\chi(n)v}$ be the space of Bessel models of $V$. After describing the classification of all the simple Lie groups of tube type, we will give a characterization of the space of Bessel models of an induced representation. As a corollary of this characterization we obtain a local multiplicity one theorem for the space of Bessel models of an irreducible representation of $G$. As an application of this results we calculate the Bessel-Plancherel measure of a Lie group of tube type, $L^2(N\backslash G;\chi)$, where $\chi$ is a generic character of $N$. Then we use Howe's theory of dual pairs to show that the Plancherel measure of the space $L^2(O(p-r,q-s)\backslash O(p,q))$ is the pullback, under the $\Theta$ lift, of the Bessel-Plancherel measure $L^2(N\backslash Sp(m,\mathbb{R});\chi)$, where $m=r+s$ and $\chi$ is a generic character that depends on $r$ and $s$.

Introduction to Teichmüller theory and its applications to dynamics of interval exchange transformations, flows on surfaces and billiards

Abstract:This text is an expanded version of the lecture notes of a minicourse (with the same title of this text) delivered by the authors in the Bedlewo school "Modern Dynamics and its Interaction with Analysis, Geometry and Number Theory" (from 4 to 16 July, 2011). In the first part of this text, i.e., from Sections 1 to 5, we discuss the Teichmüller and moduli space of translation surfaces, the Teichmüller flow and the SL(2,R)-action on these moduli spaces and the Kontsevich-Zorich cocycle over the Teichmüller geodesic flow. We sketch two applications of the ergodic properties of the Teichmüller flow and Kontsevich-Zorich cocycle, with respect to Masur-Veech measures, to the unique ergodicity, deviation of ergodic averages and weak mixing properties of typical interval exchange transformations and translation flows. These applications are based on the fundamental fact that the Teichmüller flow and the Kontsevich-Zorich cocycle work as \emph{renormalization dynamics} for interval exchange transformations and translation flows. In the second part, i.e., from Sections 6 to 9, we start by pointing out that it is interesting to study the ergodic properties of the Kontsevich-Zorich cocycle with respect to invariant measures other than the Masur-Veech ones, in view of potential applications to the investigation of billiards in rational polygons (for instance). We then study some examples of measures for which the ergodic properties of the Kontsevich-Zorich cocycle are very different from the case of Masur-Veech measures. Finally, we end these notes by constructing some examples of closed SL(2,R)-orbits such that the restriction of the Teichmüller flow to them has arbitrary small rate of exponential mixing, or, equivalently, the naturally associated unitary SL(2,R)-representations have arbitrarily small spectral gap (and in particular it has complementary series).

Abstract:We study the geometry and arithmetic of the curves $C \colon y^3 = x^4 + ax^2 + b$ and their associated Prym abelian surfaces $P$. We prove a Torelli theorem in this context and give a geometric proof of the fact that $P$ has quaternionic multiplication (QM) by the quaternion order of discriminant $6$. This allows us to describe the Galois action on the geometric endomorphism algebra of $P$. As an application, we classify the torsion subgroups of the Mordell-Weil groups $P(\mathbb{Q})$, as both abelian groups and $\text{End}(P)$-modules.

Abstract:For a family of stochastic differential equations, we investigate the asymptotic behaviors of its corresponding Picard's iteration, establishing convergence results in terms of relative entropy. Our convergence results complement the conventional ones in the $L^2$ and almost sure sense, revealing some previously unexplored aspects of the stochastic differential equations under consideration. For example, in combination with Pinsker's inequality, one of our results readily yields the convergence under Picard's iteration in the total variation sense, which does not seem to directly follow from any other known results. Moreover, our results promise possible further applications of SDEs in related disciplines. As an example of such applications, we establish the convergence of the corresponding mutual information sequence under Picard's iteration for a continuous-time Gaussian channel with feedback, which may pave way for effective computation of the mutual information of such a channel, a long open problem in information theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the differential topological properties of a large class of singular spaces: subcarteisan space. First, a minor further result on the partition of unity for differential spaces is derived. Second, the tubular neighborhood theorem for subcartesian spaces with constant structural dimensions is established. Third, the concept of Morse functions on smooth manifolds is generalized to differential spaces. For subcartesian space with constant structural dimension, a class of examples of Morse functions is provided. With the assumption that the subcartesian space can be embedded as a bounded subset of an Euclidean space, it is proved that any smooth bounded function on this space can be approximated by Morse functions. The infinitesimal stability of Morse functions on subcartesian spaces is studied. Classical results on Morse functions on smooth manifolds can be treated directly as corollaries of our results here.
