Abstract:Supersymmetric field theories of scalars and fermions in 4-D space-time can be cast in the formalism of Kaehler geometry. In these lectures I review Kaehler geometry and its application to the construction and analysis of supersymmetric models on Kaehler coset manifolds. It is shown that anomalies can be eliminated by the introduction of line-bundle representations of the coset symmetry groups. Such anomaly-free models can be gauged consistently and used to construct alternatives to the usual MSSM and supersymmetric GUTs.

Abstract:These are the notes for lectures given at the Sanya winter school in complex analysis and geometry in January 2016. In Sec. 1, we review the meaning of Ricci curvature of Kähler metrics and introduce the problem of finding Kähler–Einstein metrics. In Sec. 2, we describe the formal picture that leads to the notion of K-stability of Fano manifolds, which is an algebro-geometric criterion for the existence of a Kähler–Einstein metric, by the recent result of Chen–Donaldson–Sun. In Sec. 3, we discuss algebraic structure on Gromov–Hausdorff limits, which is a key ingredient in the proof of the Kähler–Einstein result. In Sec. 4, we give a brief survey of the more recent work on tangent cones of singular Kähler–Einstein metrics arising from Gromov–Hausdorff limits, and the connections with algebraic geometry.

Abstract:We review properties of affine special Kaehler structures focusing on singularities of such structures in the simplest case of real dimension two. We describe all possible isolated singularities and compute the monodromy of the flat symplectic connection, which is a part of a special Kaehler structure, near a singularity. Beside numerous local examples, we construct continuous families of special Kaehler structures with isolated singularities on the projective line.

Abstract:These are related, because the ideas involved in (1) form one of the main foundations for (2). More precisely, the proof of the Yau conjecture relies on an extension of the partial C estimate to metrics with conic singularities. Gang Tian has made claims to credit for these results. The purpose of this document is to rebut these claims on the grounds of originality, priority and correctness of the mathematical arguments. We acknowledge Tian’s many contributions to this field in the past and, partly for this reason, we have avoided raising our objections publicly over the last 15 months, but it seems now that this is the course we have to take in order to document the facts. In addition, this seems to us the responsible action to take and one we owe to our colleagues, especially those affected by these developments.
On the geometry of Kähler--Frobenius manifolds and their classification

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to show that flat compact Kähler manifolds exhibit the structure of a Frobenius manifold, a structure originating in 2D Topological Quantum Field Theory and closely related to Joyce structure. As a result, we classify all such manifolds. It can be deduced that Kähler--Frobenius manifolds include certain Calabi--Yau manifolds, complex tori $T=\mathbb{C}^n/\mathbb{Z}^n$, Hantzsche--Wendt manifolds, hyperelliptic manifolds and manifolds of type $T/G$, where $G$ is a finite group acting on $T$ freely and containing no translations. An explicit study is provided for the two-dimensional case. Additionally, we can prove that Chern's conjecture for Kähler pre-Frobenius manifolds holds. Lastly, we establish that certain classes of Kähler-Frobenius manifolds share a direct relationship with theta functions which are important objects in number theory as well as complex analysis.

Abstract:The local classification of Kaehler submanifolds $M^{2n}$ of the hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^{2n+p}$ with low codimension $2\leq p\leq n-1$ under only intrinsic assumptions remains a wide open problem. The situation is quite different for submanifolds in the round sphere $\mathbb{S}^{2n+p}$, $2\leq p\leq n-1$, since Florit, Hui and Zheng have shown that the codimension has to be $p=n-1$ and then that any submanifold is just part of an extrinsic product of two-dimensional umbilical spheres in $\mathbb{S}^{3n-1}\subset\mathbb{R}^{3n}$. The main result of this paper is a version for Kaehler manifolds isometrically immersed into the hyperbolic ambient space of the result for spherical submanifolds. Besides, we generalize several results obtained by Dajczer and Vlachos.

Abstract:This is a continuation of our previous paper on settling the non-compact version of Calabi's conjecture on open manifold. In both these papers, open manifolds will mean quasiprojective manifolds M which can be written as MBAR\D. We are constructing complete Kahler metrics on M with either zero Ricci curvature or non-negative Ricci curvature. As was explained in the program outlined by the second author in the Congress in Helsinki, D is related to the zeroes of a section of K(MBAR)-1. In our previous paper [TY1], we dealt with the case when the multiplicity is equal to one. In this paper, we finish the case when the multiplicity is greater than one. We also allow orbifold type singularities in all these discussions. Our constructions include practically all known examples of complete Kahler manifolds with zero Ricci curvature of finite topological type. (It should be noted that M. Anderson, P. Kronheimer and Le Brun have recently constructed such examples with infinite topological type.) Besides constructing many new examples of such manifolds which may serve as gravitational instantons, these matrices provide a bridge between metric geometry and algebraic geometry of M because we do have some understanding of complete manifolds with non-negative curvature.

Abstract:In recent years, there are many progress made in Kähler geometry. Inparticular, the topics related to the problems of the existence and uniquenessof extremal Kähler metrics, as well as obstructions to the existence of suchmetrics in general Kähler manifold. In this talk, we will report some recentdevelopments in this direction. In particular, we will discuss the progressrecently obtained in understanding the metric structure of the infinitedimensional space of Kaehler potentials, and their applications to the problemsmentioned above. We also will discuss some recent on Kaehler Ricci flow.

Abstract:We prove various classification results for homogeneous locally conformally symplectic manifolds. In particular, we show that a homogeneous locally conformally Kaehler manifold of a reductive group is of Vaisman type, if the normalizer of the isotropy group is compact. We also show that such a result does not hold in the case of noncompact normalizer and determine all left-invariant locally conformally Kaehler structures on reductive Lie groups.

Abstract:The goal of this note is to give an introduction to locally conformally symplectic and Kähler geometry. In particular, Sections 1 and 3 aim to provide the reader with enough mathematical background to appreciate this kind of geometry. The reference book for locally conformally Kähler geometry is "Locally conformal Kähler Geometry" by Sorin Dragomir and Liviu Ornea. Many progresses in this field, however, were accomplished after the publication of this book, hence are not contained there. On the other hand, there is no book on locally conformally symplectic geometry and many recent advances lie scattered in the literature. Sections 2 and 4 would like to demonstrate how these geometries can be used to give precise mathematical formulations to ideas deeply rooted in classical and modern Physics.

Abstract:In this paper we study compact Sasaki manifolds in view of transverse K\"ahler geometry and extend some results in K\"ahler geometry to Sasaki manifolds. In particular we define integral invariants which obstruct the existence of transverse K\"ahler metric with harmonic Chern forms. The integral invariant $f_1$ for the first Chern class case becomes an obstruction to the existence of transverse K\"ahler metric of constant scalar curvature. We prove the existence of transverse K\"ahler-Ricci solitons (or {\it Sasaki-Ricci soliton}) on compact toric Sasaki manifolds whose basic first Chern form of the normal bundle of the Reeb foliation is positive and the first Chern class of the contact bundle is trivial. We will further show that if $S$ is a compact toric Sasaki manifold with the above assumption then by deforming the Reeb field we get a Sasaki-Einstein structure on $S$. As an application we obtain irregular toric Sasaki-Einstein metrics on the unit circle bundles of the powers of the canonical bundle of the two-point blow-up of the complex projective plane.
The generalized Kähler Calabi-Yau problem

Abstract:We formulate an extension of the Calabi conjecture to the setting of generalized Kähler geometry. We show a transgression formula for the Bismut Ricci curvature in this setting, which requires a new local Goto/Kodaira-Spencer deformation result, and use it to show that solutions of the generalized Calabi-Yau equation on compact manifolds are classically Kähler, Calabi-Yau, and furthermore unique in their generalized Kähler class. We show that the generalized Kähler-Ricci flow is naturally adapted to this conjecture, and exhibit a number of a priori estimates and monotonicity formulas which suggest global existence and convergence. For initial data in the generalized Kähler class of a Kähler Calabi-Yau structure we prove the flow exists globally and converges to this unique fixed point. This has applications to understanding the space of generalized Kähler structures, and as a special case yields the topological structure of natural classes of Hamiltonian symplectomorphisms on hyperKähler manifolds. In the case of commuting-type generalized Kähler structures we establish global existence and convergence with arbitrary initial data to a Kähler, Calabi-Yau metric, which yields a new $d d^c$-lemma for these structures.

The proofs are obtained by making a rather strong use of several facts and techniques developed by S. Chion and M. Dajczer for the study of isometric immersions of Kaehler manifolds into the standard hyperbolic space.
