Abstract:We reinterpret a result of T. Mochizuki about the Fourier transform of Stokes data of irregular connections on the Riemann sphere in the language of Stokes local systems due to P. Boalch. We thus obtain a clean topological description of the Stokes matrices of the Fourier transform from infinity to infinity in a large number of cases of one level. In particular, this induces explicit isomorphisms between wild character varieties, in a much larger range of examples than those for which such isomorphisms have previously been written down. We conjecture that these isomorphisms are compatible with the quasi-Hamiltonian structure of the wild character varieties.

Resurgent Wilson loops in refined topological string

Abstract:We study the resurgent structures of Wilson loops in refined topological string theory. We argue that the Borel singularities should be integral periods, and that the associated Stokes constants are refined Donaldson-Thomas invariants, just like the free energies, except that the Borel singularities cannot be local flat coordinates. We also solve the non-perturbative series in closed form from the holomorphic anomaly equations for the refined Wilson loops. We illustrate these results with the examples of local P^2 and local P^1 x P^1.

Abstract:Knot and link polynomials are topological invariants calculated from the expectation value of loop operators in topological field theories. In 3D Chern-Simons theory, these invariants can be found from crossing and braiding matrices of four-point conformal blocks of the boundary 2D CFT. We calculate crossing and braiding matrices for $W_N$ conformal blocks with one component in the fundamental representation and another in a rectangular representation of $SU(N)$, which can be used to obtain HOMFLY knot and link invariants for these cases. We also discuss how our approach can be generalized to invariants in higher-representations of $W_N$ algebra.

Abstract:We propose the refined topological string correspondence to the expectation values of half-BPS Wilson loop operators in 5d $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 gauge theory partition function on the Omega-deformed background $$ {\mathbb{R}}_{\upepsilon_{1,2}}^4 $$ × S1. We provide the refined topological vertex method and the refined holomorphic anomaly equation method in the topological string theory, from which we have exact computations on the 5d Wilson loops partition functions in both A- and B-models. Finally, with the exact results we have in B-model, we recover the quantum periods of local ℙ1 × ℙ1 model and local ℙ2 model in the study of quantum geometry and we further give a refined generalization of A-period.

Abstract:We define categories of Stokes filtered and Stokes graded $G$-local systems for reductive groups $G$ and use the formalism of Tannakian categories to show that they are equivalent to the category of $G$-connections. We then use the interpretation of moduli spaces of Stokes filtered $G$-local systems as braid varieties to prove physical rigidity of two well-known families of cohomologically rigid connections, the Kloosterman and Airy connections. In the Kloosterman case, our proof relies on Steinberg's cross-section.

Abstract:The classical Thistlethwaite theorem for links can be phrased as asserting that the Kauffman bracket of a link can be obtained from an evaluation of the Bollobás-Riordan polynomial of a ribbon graph associated to one of the link's Kauffman states. In this paper, we extend this result to knotoids, which are a generalization of knots that naturally arises in the study of protein topology. Specifically we extend the Thistlethwaite theorem to the twisted arrow polynomial of knotoids, which is an invariant of knotoids on compact, not necessarily orientable, surfaces. To this end, we define twisted knotoids, marked ribbon graphs, and their arrow- and Bollobás-Riordan polynomials. We also extend the Thistlethwaite theorem to the loop arrow polynomial of knotoids in the plane, and to spherical linkoids.

Relations between Stokes constants of unrefined and Nekrasov-Shatashvili topological strings

Abstract:In this paper we demonstrate that the Stokes constants of unrefined free energies and the Stokes constants of Nekrasov-Shatashvili free energies of topological string on a non-compact Calabi-Yau threefold are identical, possibly up to a sign, for any Borel singularity which is not associated to a compact two-cycle that intersects only with non-compact four-cycles. Since the Stokes constants of Nekrasov-Shatashvili free energies are conjectured to coincide with those of quantum periods and therefore have the interpretation of BPS invariants, our results give strong support that the Stokes constants of unrefined free energies may also be identified with BPS invariants.

Abstract:It is known that the naive Abelian Wilson loop defined by the Abelian projection cannot reproduce the correct behavior of the double-winding Wilson loop. It is also known that the naive Abelian Wilson loop cannot reproduce the correct behavior of the Wilson loops in higher representations, but this problem was recently solved by using the redefined "Abelian" Wilson loop. In this talk, we will give another reason why this redefined "Abelian" Wilson loop behaves correctly, and by following the same line of the argument, we will propose redefined "Abelian" double-winding Wilson loop which is considered to behave correctly.

Abstract:We consider systems of linear ODEs on with a regular singularity at and an irregular singularity of rank 1 (double pole) at . The monodromy data of such a system are described by upper and lower triangular Stokes matrices . We impose reality conditions which imply . We study the leading WKB exponents of the Stokes matrices in parametrizations given by generalized minors and by spectral coordinates. We show that in a certain degeneration limit, called the caterpillar limit, the real parts of these exponents are given by periods of 1-cycles on a degenerate spectral curve. We then consider moving away from the caterpillar limit. Using exact WKB and spectral networks, we give predictions for asymptotics of generalized minors in terms of regularized periods on the spectral curve, in the cases and . For we verify directly that the predictions are correct, while for they are new conjectures. Boalch's theorem from Poisson geometry implies that the real parts of leading WKB exponents satisfy the rhombus (or interlacing) inequalities. We show for and that these inequalities are equivalent to the positivity of certain periods, and that this positivity is a consequence of the existence of certain finite webs. We also discuss the relation of the spectral networks with the cluster structures on dual Poisson–Lie groups considered by Goncharov–Shen, and with certain supersymmetric quantum field theories in dimension four. In the field theory context the caterpillar limit becomes a weak-coupling limit, and the finite webs are interpreted as BPS particles.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a mirror symmetry conjecture based on the work of Brini et al. (Ann Henri Poincaŕe 13(8):1873–1910, 2012) and Diaconescu et al. (Commun Math Phys 319(3):813–863, 2013). This conjecture relates open Gromov–Witten invariants of the conifold transition of a torus knot to the topological recursion on the B-model spectral curve.

Abstract:Classical knot theory deals with {\em diagrams} and {\em invariants}. By means of horizontal {\em trisecants}, we construct a new theory of classical braids with invariants valued in {\em pictures}. These pictures are closely related to diagrams of the initial object. The main tool is the notion of {\em free $k$-braid group}. In the simplest case, for free $2$-braids, the word problem and the conjugacy problem can be solved by finding the minimal representative, which can be thought of as a graph, and is unique, as such. We prove a general theorem about invariants of dynamical systems which are valued in such groups and hence, in pictures. We describe various applications of the above theory: invariants of weavings (collections of skew lines in $\R^{3}$), and many other objects in geometry and topology. In general, provided that for some topological objects (considered up to isotopy, homotopy etc) some easy axioms (coming from some dimensional constraints) hold, one can construct similar dynamical systems and picture-valued invariants.

Torus knots and generalized Schröder paths

Abstract:We relate invariants of torus knots to the counts of a class of lattice paths, which we call generalized Schröder paths. We determine generating functions of such paths, located in a region determined by a type of a torus knot under consideration, and show that they encode colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials of this knot. The generators of uncolored HOMFLY-PT homology correspond to a basic set of such paths. Invoking the knots-quivers correspondence, we express generating functions of such paths as quiver generating series, and also relate them to quadruply-graded knot homology. Furthermore, we determine corresponding A-polynomials, which provide algebraic equations and recursion relations for generating functions of generalized Schröder paths. The lattice paths of our interest explicitly enumerate BPS states associated to knots via brane constructions.

Abstract:We investigate the topological string correspondence of the five-dimensional half-BPS Wilson loops on $S^1$. First, we propose the refined holomorphic anomaly equations for the BPS sectors of the Wilson loop expectation values. We then solve these equations and obtain many non-trivial novel integral refined BPS invariants for rank-one models. By studying the Wilson loop expectation values around the conifold point, we obtain the quantum spectra of the quantum Hamiltonians of the associated integrable systems. Lastly, as an application, the study of this paper leads to a generalization of the blowup equations for arbitrary magnetic fluxes that satisfy the flux quantization condition.

We prove that the existence and the number of short trajectories of $\varpi_{a,\theta}$ depend on the location of $a$ in certain curves defined on the complex plane as the level sets of some harmonic functions. More focus will be to the cases $\theta\in\left\{ 0,\pi/4\right\} .$ We investigate these classifications to study an inverse spectral problem related to the complex cubic oscillator for Schrödinger equation.

By employing the Coulomb gas formalism, the corresponding conformal blocks can be interpreted as wavefunctions of a Landau-Ginzburg model specified by a superpotential $\mathcal{W}$. Abstract:We show that generic three-dimensional N=2 quiver super Chern–Simons-matter theories admit Bogomol'nyi–Prasad–Sommerfield (BPS) Drukker–Trancanelli (DT) type Wilson loops. We investigate both Wilson loops along timelike infinite straight lines in Minkowski spacetime and circular Wilson loops in Euclidean space. In Aharnoy–Bergman–Jafferis–Maldacena theory, we find that generic BPS DT type Wilson loops preserve the same number of supersymmetries as Gaiotto–Yin type Wilson loops. There are several free parameters for generic BPS DT type Wilson loops in the construction, and supersymmetry enhancement for Wilson loops happens for special values of the parameters.
